Turner spouted off about not coming back but it was chalked up as just talk, nothing official. Turner has seemingly always been somewhat frustrated with things, be it his playing time, the effort others give, the game plan, the results...pretty much the program in general, including Stansbury. He decides he is for sure not coming back and blows of some end of the year meetings. The letter comes and Phil figures what the heck, I'll take a swipe at Stansbury, so he plays the woe is me card about a decision he had already made that the letter just confirmed. It's a pretty cold-blooded final knife in the back from Phil to Stansbury.
