Here's the question I have about the NCAA ruling Cam Newton eligible.

How the hell does Auburn not get busted for not declaring Cam Newton ineligible when this first came out and then appeal for reinstatement? They're required to declare him ineligible whenever any information comes out that shows he might not be eligible and no new information has come out in over a week now.

While I'm don't think this is over, Slive's statement seems like a closing statement on the issue. He hid this from the NCAA, slapped us on the hand for tattlin, convienced the NCAA to sweep it under. Then hetold Auburn to declare him inelgible so that the NCAA could publically declare him eligible and be done with it.

I'll say it again...we have to get Slive on our side because he's above it all. Maybe a BCS bowl will do the trick.</p>

True. Auburn did stick a huge middle finger in the NCAA's face when they continued to play Cam despite the potential violations.
And now the fact that the NCAA almost immediately declared him eligible after Auburn's "token" move tells me that they are more interested in throwing off some heat for this.

My take is they know that they can't get this resolved before the SECCG or the BCSNC. So what's the NCAA/SEC to do?

I hope like hell this comes back to bite them with a renewed vigor in this story.

against the NCAA for denying them the right (or whoever else is #3 in the BCS at the time) to play in the BCS title game?

to play in the NC game. I about choked on that but its true. Auburn has 12 wins now with many wins against top 25 teams. TCU has 12 wins with the only win against Utah. They are not even a top 25 team in my book.
