Robert Johnson was Ole Miss's "4th or 5th" option. They claim no intrerest in Hughes or Lewis.

Why do they care then?

just go read NAFOOM.

Your ilk has been saying that for awhile, except for Godfrey, Rounder, and USC. They are the only reason I read over there.

You want me to search all the threads there and prove it?

I'm assuming Johnson was fairly high on our list based on how much attention we apparently were giving him. We were always going to be on the outside looking in, because he was Jay Hughes's teammate.

Where we had Johnson on our list, who knows, but based on the way we were playing his recruitment, I feel pretty safe in saying we definitely wanted his signature if we could've gotten it.

But...since he's a solid commit to MSU, I can say for a fact now that he was 10th on our WR list, and even if we had to stoop that low, we would've probably tried other options first if it wasn't going to work out....obviously.

They're losing all their first choices, so they have to settle for D-1AA talent. They'll be lucky to beat Northern Arizona next season.

I just think that it is funny.

I also find it funny that Ole Miss fans are monitoring MSU commits facebooks pages and were able to catch this. I imagine some overweight guy in Grenada spending all day Sunday refreshing Carlos Thompson's page hoping he updates his status. It's sad, but it's funny.

The exact same thing would happen if the situations were reversed.

To date, OM's level of creepy fan far exceeds ours. You muthas have hired guns checkin things out on our end, so it has "Joe Rebel" thinking it is okay to do the same.

YP would state that OM wanted him, but his connections with Jay Hughes and Jay's father being one of State's coaches would make it difficult to overcome. Then to sugarcoat things, YP would make it sound like that we were in on "better" receivers. Take that for what it means, which usually means that we wanted RJ, y'all got him, so YP has to spin it for the sheep.

It's not some overweight guy from Grenada acting a psychopathic ***.

It's more likely a decent looking 45 year old guy from the suburbs with a wife & three children who makes $70K a year.

That's what makes this so scary.

and send it to the Clarion Ledger. We would both agree on that. I don't blame the Ole Miss fan who did it. Hampton and Veazy are to blame. The fact that THEY ran with it, on nothing more than a FB screen shot is unresponsible journalism.
Have you noticed Veazy has taken down his original post? Wonder why? He knows he was wrong on this one.

Ole Miss fans claim that Markeith Ambles was number 1 or 2 on their board. Ambles was comitted to TN for nearly forever. He didnt even know where Oxford was until he decomitted from UT

I think we actually had a better shot at him before the UT staff left. For whatever reason, a lot of schools assumed his recruiting was over and didn't keep pursuing him. When UT's coaches left though, he became a target again for a lot of schools, and now he's even less likely to consider us. We weren't getting him either way. We were always a back up plan, but our chances were better when we were one of the only back up plans.

And no I have no clue where he was on our board. I'm assuming we'd take him if we could get him, but we won't have that opportunity.
