And it could be obvious why it isn't. When you're putting a puzzle together it's tough starting out. You find the edges and get laid down, orient yourself and methodically start piecing it all together. As the picture becomes clearer things begin to fall into place.

We're at that state in the puzzle where there's a leap that has to be made.

1. The Newton camp contacted the MSU camp and said we need "more than a scholarship." Newton camprequests $100-180k.
2. MSU campdoesn't want any part of it and walks away; reports to AD and SEC.
3. Cam commits to Auburn.
4. Cam phones MSU camp and states "the money was too much."

Here's the leap: at step 3there is a payday that we all are assuming happened. The assumption is that IF Newtons request $ from MSU, THEN Newtons also requested $ from Auburn. The latter hasn't been proven yet and no one has stepped forward to say otherwise. The only thing we're hanging on this is renovations done to a church.

Hopefully at least. 200k is a lot of money to launder. Let's not forget in all this that a power lobbying group (Fine-Geddie) who happens to represent the Tigers Unlimited Foundation is already under investigation from the Feds for funneling money to politicians in Alabama. I'd guess that is why they are involved.
