Every one who wants Dooley can have him, and I'll take Tubberville for my team and we will see who comes out with the better team. I cant believe people on here actually think Dooley is better for us than Tubberville. The head coach at LA TECH!!! How about the head coach of an SEC Champion team that has recruiting ties all throughout the southeast, and has the 2nd highest winning percentage in the SEC over the last 10 years. You take Dooley, and ill take Tubberville. This is completely absurd. Glad to see that we as an SEC school think that a head coach from a middle of the pack team in the WAC conference is the guy to turn our football program around....

I would sit on my ars and drink sweet tea for the next couple of years. All while making more money than I would coaching M State's football team.

...at his bio and tell me what's on there that qualifies him for something like this.

We've been paying a guy to learn on the job for the past five years. We don't need to continue doing that. We need a proven HC from the D1 level. That's why I'm not a fan of Wilson from Oklahoma, let alone Campbell or Hudspeth. We can bring guys like that in as an assistant, that is fine.

I know that there is no way, in a million years, that an SEC school, especially one as shoddy as ours, would swallow their pride and hire Steve Campbell. But, mark my words, some day you'll turn on the tv and see him leading some D1-A school 10, 11, 12 win season, year after year.

The man was on his way to finally working his way up the ladder, when he made the (terrible) decision to take a job as Ms State as O-Line coach at a dying program under Jackie S. It completely killed his momentum, or he'd be one of the names being mentioned all over the country in coaching searches.

I don't see how Tubbs could turn down an offer to coach here at State. He will obviously be paid 2 million plus. He will get a nice fat contract. He is already getting 6 million from Auburn. And the cherry on top is that he doesn't have to work as hard here at State to keep his job.

We let Croom slide by for 5 years without putting much pressure on him to win until the end of his 5th year. We gave Jackie 4 years after he started mailing it in before we finally canned him.

We are Mississippi State University. We don't expect national, conference or even divisional titles!! All we want is a winning season every so many years. That's it. You don't have to shake up the world to keep your job here. As a matter of fact the blue hairs sitting down in their 104 year old seats would rather you keep the shaking down to a minimum.

Tubbs can basically come to State and put it in cruise control for at least two years and rake in the dough. Then he might have to work a little in his third year to give us a little taste of what we want. Even then however, all we want is not to be embarassed and to have something to ring our cowbells about. We are really easy fans to please. State would be a vacation for Tubbs and a delight to us fans.

I personally would like to have a coach were you're positive you're gonna beat the teams you pay to lose to you, you have a good feeling about the games you should win, and you look forward to the games you could win. I honestly can't wait for whoever our next coach is. I am looking forward to busting the seams out of my cowbell after wandering around in the wilderness of humiliation for almost a decade now.

State fans are easily pleased. All we want are bowl games not national titles. but at the same time if a big name like tubbs came to starkville, more would be expected of him that croom or sherrill</p>
