My promo just ran out, and accordingly my price hiked enormously. Cut HBO and Cinemax out, all the lady would offer me was something to with Triple Play, which I don't need or want because I haven't had a home phone since 2003.

Any ideas on good ways to get another promo thrown my way? I really want my HBO back.

Has anybody ever managed to talk them out of equipment costs? That's the worst part of mine.

Do you have internet thru Comcast? If so, why wouldn't you do the Triple Play? Just don't plug the phone in. You may have to get another modem, but it's not a big deal, not like they have to run wiring thru your house. I was the same way, had my home phone thru Vonage. But for the price I was paying for Cable+internet thru Comcast plus another 30 bucks for Vonage, I saved about $30-40 by going with the Triple Play.

Well I still have DSL through them. All of their services even the 'triple play' gradually increase every year. They have great intro rates and once they figure it's easier for the customer just to stick with them than switching services they start ratcheting up the bill. We ended up somewhere around 142-150 for the triple play before we cancelled. Every month it would be something different that would tweak the bill just a little. It was a pain in the *** to call and complain. Now we have Direct TV for cable, we have a few more months before our 12 month introductory rate runs out. Then I'm sure it'll start creeping up every month.
