up his ***.

I'm trying to figure out how I should feel about this year. I mean...on one hand, Denver led the division from start to "almost" finish while battling countless injuries on both sides of the ball. That should be a positive, but knowing how bad the division is makes it hard to really take anything from that. And know HOW we lost it (bad losses to Chokeland and Kansas ******, ending with 3 straight losses) makes it even harder. I didn't even have high hopes for this year, in fact, this is about where I thought we'd be. It just wasn't how I thought we'd get here. Opening the season by donkey punching the Faiders certainly didn't help me keep my optimism in check.

I'm starting to feel like every year is going to a be a "wait till next year" year. I mean, we clearly have one of the best young QB's in the game who still has tons of potential. He isn't the problem. Marshall is a solid WR and Royal showed a lot of promise. Hopefully, they'll hold on to more balls this year because they dropped more than their share. We have a good O-line with a potentially great rookie on the left in Clady. Hell, even going to our 8th RB of the year we still ran the ball "ok." How many teams would have done that?

Our defense is just so damn bad. I'm almost to the point of saying we should start from scratch, maybe even trying to get some picks/new blood by shipping guys like Champ Bailey (who I think is overrated---he gets beat deep way more than a "shut down" corner ever should), Dre Bly, and DJ Williams out.

Then the coaching...for the first time, I'm starting to think the game may have passed Shanahan by. Well, not that he isn't a good coach, but something isn't working. Although, another part of me admires those teams who are willing to stick with coaches even during tough times (the Steelers with Cowher for example).

This sucks. I'd almost rather have been out of the race before December started than to once again flirt with the playoffs until the end.

Your passing game is set for years and that system will always produce a good running game. Denver's biggest need is up the middle, DT - Safeties.

As for Indy, I can tell you right now they aren't excited about this game. SD has won 3 out of the last 4 and every game has been close.

Peyton is on top of his game right now, but so is Rivers and LT. The key will be how much Bob Sanders will contribute. SD just has an overload of riches at the skill positions. Rivers, a douche he may be, is a hell of a QB and a competitor. LT. Gates. Vincent Jackson is a freak, Chambers, Legadu Nanee is probably the best player in the league that most people haven't heard of.

Mainly, because I don't see that the Chargers are all that impressive. They are no doubt playing better NOW but so are the Colts. Should the Chargers beat the Colts, then I'll believe they are "back." I just don't think think that beating Oakland, Kansas City, and then two teams that have been in a downward spiral for week means too much.

However, I'd gladly trade places with you. I guess I should be too hard on them.

Talent wise, from top to bottom, the Chargers have had the best team in the AFC West for several years now. Denver is the only team that has come close and we can't play defense to save our playoff chances lives. I still think Denver and SD will fight for the division for a little while longer. I just don't see anything in Kansas City that makes me think they'll step up and I think we can almost always count on Al Davis' team to struggle.

Denver has the offense. But we have to make some massive moves in the offseason on defense.
