You wanna revisit where you said UCLA wasn't a top 25 team an ASU would smoke them?

You better watch out for Memphis State this weekend because a bus breaking down might be the least of your worries.

RebelBruiser, 9/18/14 - "UCLA isn't even Top 25 good in my opinion, so yes that's exactly who I mean. UCLA is going to get beat by 3 TDs when they play Arizona State in their next game and will probably end up 7-5 or 8-4 at best. If we play poorly, we may only beat Memphis by 10. That's where I stand on it. I don't expect us to play poorly, so I expect we'll win by at least 20.

They have a nice team, but they will be the second best team we've played to date. They are not better than Boise from what I've seen, and I see little reason to fear a possible upset."

He was dead wrong about UCLA but he's still probably right about Memphis. I wouldn't pick UAB to beat top 20 teams based on their performance against us. I do think Memphis may be good enough to win if Ole Miss plays poorly.

Memphis wants to beat OM badly and they believe they have a chance to win. Does OM have a better team? Of course... But if this nonchalant attitude by their fans creeps into the teams performance this weekend, you better watch out. These ain't your 2011 Memphis tigers...

Weeks like this he probably questions his rising from the darkness to rejoin the

message board conversations. Been a tough week.

Hugh says Memphis will be their toughest test yet. Shirley brusier doesn't disagree with Freezus?

This sounds a lot like what a lot of people were saying about MSU-South Alabama. These may not be your 2011 Memphis Tigers, but this isn't the 2011 Mississippi Bears either. Mississippi will cover the spread.

I'll be honest -- I was wrong about UCLA too. The team they were supposed to be finally showed up in the second quarter last night for the first time all year -- right when I had decided ASU was about to smoke them...

Difference being Memphis has a game to compare if you get into that sort of thing.

We'll see. I was right about the MSU-USA game. I think I'm right about the UM-UM game too. There's a lot of wishful thinking on this board about that game.

I listened to Hugh Kellenberger yesterday and he said Ole Miss hasn't really

played a complete game yet and people haven't seen how good they really are. He implied they would
blow Memphis away, he's probably right.

I had to quit reading after you said "I listened to Hugh Killafewburgers". That clown knows nothing about anything.

They will probably keep it vanilla and Memphis might hang around the first half then the back end of the game they will use depth and athletic talent to pull away. No SEC West team should be losing ooc games with the talent in the division. Honestly, a SEC West team could go winless in the west division and still be a top 25 team.

Mississippi hasn't played a complete game yet because they don't have a complete team. There are some definite holes in their lineup. But none that Memphis will be able to expose. The SEC West is a different story though.

south Alabama is not a good football team

I wouldn't pat myself on the back for thinking we would win easily. Only reason people thought we would have trouble is because of the UAB game. Memphis is not a bad football team and you can bet your *** they are going to play hard. Anytime Memphis has had a decent team, they have played ole miss hard. I don't care how bad some people thought UCLA was, anytime you can go there and play as well as Memphis did, it's pretty damn impressive. Ole Miss will have their hands full come Saturday, especially when you add in the distractions of Alabama and game day next weekend.

My thoughts exactly. If OM plays well, they will win. If they come out as nonchalant as their fan base is and let Memphis hang around, they can be in for more than they want.

I do think they are better than UAB.

Ole Miss will have to TRY to not beat them by 20+. I just don't see it even being close.

Memphis isn't a bad team, in their league. But they're not going to go into Oxford and make it a close game. As for South Alabama being a bad team, that's not what most on this board were saying a few weeks ago.

For the record, my gut feeling is also that Ole Miss is going to end up winning this one, but the piece I'm not understanding is your logic surrounding Memphis being completely incapable of keeping a game close in Oxford. They traveled across the country to California in order to play #11 UCLA in their house, and they traded punches with them all night. How is heading 45 minutes down the road to play Ole Miss in Oxford a seemingly more impossible feat?

Because Mississippi is a better team than UCLA. And UCLA was playing like dog **** until the 2nd quarter of the game last night. Like I said earlier, we'll see. I hope I'm completely wrong about this game.

The best team Mississippi has played is Boise and their pass defense is ranked 108th. The other two teams are ranked 88th and 108th in total defense.

UCLA has played a much tougher schedule against UVA, who beat UL and played BYU tough, Texas, who is down but won despite their star QB being out, and blew out ASU on the road.

And with as bad as the teams Mississippi has played, there rushing offense is ranked 79th. That's going to be a problem in SEC play if they don't get better rushing the ball. I just think you should wait to see how Mississippi does against some better than average teams before you start coddling their balls and telling them how great they are.

Mississippi is not a great team and they're going to get exposed when they start playing SEC West teams. I think UCLA would finish last or next to last in the SEC West, which is about where I expect Mississippi to finish. But I do not expect Memphis to give them any real trouble tomorrow. I'm obviously not nearly as impressed with UCLA's wins as you are. Again, I'm hope I'm all wrong on this and Memphis pulls off the upset.
