Florida would win the East- not Georgia
SC would have a top 20 defense
Mississippi would be the surprise team in the SEC
State would be the SEC flop

funny those never get mentioned

did you also have USC in the Pac-10? Do you have an opinion as to whether UConn and Tenn women's hoops will make the tourney?

Florida would win the East- not Georgia - UGA was ranked #1 in the nation preseason, but most people in the southeast were split between UF and UGA as the SEC East favorite.

SC would have a top 20 defense - Most people thought USC would have a good defense, but not nearly as good as it's been,

Mississippi would be the surprise team in the SEC - Most people expected Mississippi to be better than last year, but nobody expected them to upset UF

State would be the SEC flop - This board overall was as wooly as I've seen it this summer. There were only a few who said that last year was a fluke.

So do you still think Vandy is a good team and that Adams is a good QB? How about their good running game?

Way to go out on a limb and pick Florida.

As far as predictions go, he's batting under .300. Not bad for baseball, but making football predictions, not so much...

What's your teaser for the week so I can make sure I don't go that route.

year? Do you still blindly defend Croom while he has done nothing for the program?

More importantly, have you jumped off the Yankees' bandwagon after their most recent season?

I have already admitted that I was wrong about Carroll. You see, I have no problem admitting I was wrong unlike some people on this board.

I have never blindly defended Croom. I always said I would give him 4 years before I judged him. He won in year four. Sue me for wanting to see what he can do this year. If I had my way he would be fired yesterday.

The only reason I am a Yankees fan is because of Don Mattingly, and we all know the Mattingly years were not the greatest for the Yankees. They have been the only baseball team I have ever cheered for and that will not change. Thanks for your concern though

like those were 4 obvious predictions. Even resident board expert HD himself bet me SC wouldnt have a top D (and why a certain word is now banned) as well as saying Mississippi would have a losing record. Georgia was the Preseason #1, not Florida...

And dont even get me started on the Preseason thread picking our record....only 4 out of 77 picked us to have a losing season...seems like there was a limb I was out on afterall

in the prediction thread now. I predicted 3-9 with a loss to La Tech, a win over SLU and MTSU and a win over either Vandy or UK. Three more games and it's looking good as far as my prediction. (Not that I'm happy about it).

So how good is Vandy? Or Adams? You must be overlooking my questions in this thread. Surely you weren't wrong about them

Some people just won't give you credit..

Same people are thinking our basketball team will make the NCAA this year.
I have a feeling we will be lucky to sniff the NIT this year..

I had hoped we might have an outside chance of making the NCAA this year, but after the exhibition games I'd be very happy with an NIT season.

I am not sure how anyone would think we would make the tourney this year. It would take a miracle considering all we lost last year

He gets one or two respectable predictions right but then there are a whole list of either obvious ones he was correct about or ones he was dead wrong about. Predicting a losing record to a Croom coached team, for instance - wow, it takes real powers of divination to do that.

Bottom line is there are a ton of people that are right a whole lot more than %*%+$#$ that I don't see patting themselves on the back continually. People were saying Florida was dangerous before the season began. I'm frankly not surprised Ole Miss is doign better this year, Orgeron was a terrible, terrible coach. The SC defense was a solid prediction, I'll give him that, but he's been wrong a whole lot more than he has been right.

Secondly, he wouldn't get ridiculed nearly as much if he did three things. 1) Don't talk smack in the first quarter. 2) Admit when he is wrong. 3) Not act like he's a soothsayer when he gets something right. There are plenty of people on the board who make correct predictions, but I see very few who go around patting themselves on the back all the time.

Finally, as far as hoops goes, if you will recall I was one of the few saying we would really miss Jamoney this year. Losing him, Rhodes, and Hans is killer. This team will be fun to watch at times, painful to watch at others, and will improve by year's end. That said, it will take a minor miracle for them to reach the NCAA. I see you didn't pass up a chance to go to extremes again.</p>

but if someone had asked me to predict the biggest flop, the best bet probably would have been us.

As for biggest surprise, there really weren't a lot of choices. South Carolina maybe, but since you annually tout them for the eastern division crown, they weren't really a candidate for you.

And are you really bragging about Florida? Everyone on here and many national mags acknowledged Georgia's schedule and how tought it was. Oh and Florida returned the Heisman Trophy winner.

That's great you picked those things, but they just aren't that impressive.

Vandy isnt very good. I stand by the fact though had he started against us, they would have won...As ****** as Nickson was, we still needed an interception return to their 7 yard line to beat them

3-7 and they could very easily lose 1 or both of the next 2 games (UK and at Vandy). Even if they win both, this will be thier worst record since going 4-7 back in 1977. And if they lose 1 or both, it will be their worst record since WW I.
