Found this picture recently when we were getting together for a family reunion. It was sent to my father quite some time ago. My Grandfather is on the second row, first person on the left. If any of you old timers or historians can identify the rest of this team, I would be grateful. We figure this picture was taken between 1898 and 1900 when my Grandfather attended A&M.

M Book of Athletics, it should be easy to nail down a list of potential names just by knowing your grandfather's last name, although individual identification isn't possible with what I have. The rosters were almost entirely different from year to year, and there was no 1900 squad.
Oh, and the 1898 team didn't play any match games due to an outbreak of yellow fever in Mississippi.

I appreciate the offer; but, I'm going to come over for the Texas game. Been planning that trip for a couple years. I'll let you know when I'm back over there in the area.

and that old school logo looks like crap. Wonder if they wore white batting helmets?

I really appreciate you taking the time to look this up for me. It's nice to have the roster and identify the rest of the players.

they didn't think anyone was ever gonna get injured or need a day off. I mean, nine on the team including ONE pitcher.

Tough dudes back then .... really tough.
