I'm sure this has been discussedad infinitum, but I'm gettin a TV for my Thoreau Cabin in the woods...<div>
</div><div>It will be primarily for watchin football, DVDs and some porn... I also want to have surround sound and some outdoor speaker for my deck/hottub. it'd be neat if i could surf the 'net on it, but that is certainly not a prerequisite...</div><div>
</div><div>I'm not loyal to any brand but I am leaning to Samsung. I hear I need 1020p & 60hz... I generally like low lighting and my "living room" size will be about 15' x 20' and the TV will go in the corner... I'm thinking a TV in the 47ish range would be good.</div><div>
</div><div>LCD, LED, Plasma.... I've no idea....</div><div>
</div><div>If you don't mind, please give me a short answer on what I need, either here or in a PM...</div><div>
</div><div>thanks!</div><div>

definitely need a good surround system for that porn.....It just brings out the "oh's and ah's" like nothing else.......Might as well splurge and get the 3 D tv that way you can immerse yourself right smack dab in the middle of the action and you won't feel like your by yourself.........Tusk, you just made this WAY too easy to exploit.......Now, with that being said, I recently purchased a 40" Samsung 1080p/60hz and put it in a similar size room and I love it.....Great TV/Great Pic......

they even took it out of the box, plugged it in and made sure it worked. And it's the 3D with the lightweight cheap glasses, not the big heavy ones. The 3D is movie theater quality. It also has the interwebs, Netflix, Hulu, etc. built in.

I don't think I paid this much, but it's THIS TV.

It has great reviews too. I had a plasma but there is too much glare in my den, the LED is 100X better about that.

I feel strongly that LED HDTV's kick a lot of *** (vs LCD, Plasma, etc).

Samsung is a good brand. So is LG, which I have and would buy again.

to find her pregnant. The best part of the whole story is the quote from her idiot husband in the article:

"It seems he actually buys her story, however. 'I see it as suspicious.
The films in 3D are very real. <span style="font-weight: bold;">With today’s technology, anything is
possible</span>,' he said."

But the original article was a joke from a newspaper in argentina or brazil. They had to apologize to the random person who's picture was spread around the world with the article.

Restores a small portion of my faith in mankind. However, if it were true, my money would have been on the now famous pregnant smoking Bama fan.

I have had an LCD for a little about 4 1/2 years now and still works great. I'm guessing my next will be a LCD

And well worth it during a movie or a football game. Sports in 3d are sweet, though scarce. But it's not like you have to turn the 3 d on, it's a great normal tv.

"it's the mirrors!"

... and because of this TV, i'll never own another brand other than Samsung. my next purchase will be a Samsung LED so that's what I suggest.

As far as surround sound, you can get some decent channel speakers from Home Theater Direct for decent prices. If you want a "home theater in a box" i don't know what to tell you... i'm sure there are some great ones out there. If you can spend the money, go with a component system. i love my Harmon-Kardon amp/receiver. i suggest B&W for the rest of the channels (if you've $$ to throw around). If not, HTD has some great quality speakers for your average home theater.

real choppy movement. I always suggest a 120Hz LCD, or a plasma (Hz is basically irrelevent for a plasma).

if the cabin will be unheated/cooled for periods i'd check on which types of TVs can handle that, and would go cheap regardless.
