And I’ll repeat what I thought when I saw your post - that sounds delicious!I'll repeat what I posted on the other board.
Hamburger steak, onions and gravy, creamed potatoes, green and white lima beans, toasted buttered biscuits, iced tea, and vanilla ice cream.
lol Here's the scoop on that. I have been retired for 18 years. I retired at age 52 to take care of my terminally ill parents. I'm now taking care of a sister who is in grave condition and has Down syndrome. So my wife, bless her heart, is still working, probably to stay away from me on a daily basis. lmao Anyway, she works at a hospital in ICU and seldom gets a break so her diet is not good always eating on the go. I enjoy cooking and me being home and being diabetic I try to make sure she gets vegetables, fiber, and a balanced meal with real food at least once a day. I eat healthy most of the time, rarely eating fast food. But I do love soul food. She has no choice during the day, so I feel I should at least give her a good sit down and eat supper after a hard days work.I want to come eat at 2for's house. He's been eating some down home cooking all week
Here is where we discuss our culinary delights.
Tonight the missus and I are having Moravian Chicken Pie (think chicken pot pie but without the peas and carrots). We will have leftovers for lunch tomorrow with two grand kids after preschool.

Shrimp / pasta / spinach is a GREAT trioShrimp and pasta with sundried tomato, spinach, capers, lemon juice and feta cheese.
Leftover pizza is good. Sometimes I eat it cold. Other times I put it on the top rack in my toaster oven and broil it until it starts to bubble or brown slightly. Makes a nice, hot crispy slice. I prefer thin crust as opposed to a thick crust which is just a loaf of bread to me. Not good at all. I'd rather have sauce and ingrediente than bread.Leftover pizza from lunch and some fried pickles that were horrible.
The Marie Callender are good...especially for frozen foodI am lazy today so here is tonight's menu. Marie Callender's pot pies and a salad. If you haven't ever tried these they are really good and inexpensive. Much better than any other brand on the market. My wife prefers turkey and I prefer chicken. Iced tea (I always drink unsweetened since I have diabetes). Wife drinks sweet tea. I take a sip now and then. lol Vanilla ice cream.
I like a good hot blaze in the fireplace for a frozen foot. The Marie Callender are good...especially for frozen foot
Makes my mouth water. I use the crock pot a lot once it gets colder weather.I'm going to contribute today....
Left the crock pot running this morning with a deer backstrap slow cooking with potatoes, onion, carrots, okra, corn and some smoked beef sausage included for extra flavoring. Used a mix of George's Sauce and Carolina Treat as the base for my stock. Gonna be good good
“Light supper since I just downed an entire pizza” LOLHaving a light supper tonight since I just downed a whole Little Caesar's pizza. Going to have peppered tomato soup with pimiento cheese sandwiches and a tall glass of milk.
lmao Yeah. That is a rare occasion for me. I generally eat light, no seconds because of my diabetes, but hey, one in a while........boom! lol“Light supper since I just downed an entire pizza” LOL
Love it!
Nothing but love herelmao Yeah. That is a rare occasion for me. I generally eat light, no seconds because of my diabetes, but hey, one in a while........boom! lol
Actually, I do remember reading that and got a kick out of it. lolNothing but love here
not sure if you were in the Cracker Barrel thread a couple of months ago but I’m the person who announced that the fact you can get extra dumplings as a side for chicken and dumplings at Cracker Barrel is a “game changer”
And I acknowledged there, and I do again here, that I know what a fatass sounding thing ordering chicken and dumplings with a side of dumplings sounds like LOL
