Seriously, you couldn't have taken 10 minutes to send out an e-mail and a Facebook message to let people know the game tonight wasn't open to the public? Especially considering that you'd sent out messages earlier in the week promoting the game and asking fans to attend? I was extremely pumped to see some Dawg ice hockey and left extremely pissed at the charlie foxtrot of closing the game to the public. And I guarantee I wasn't the only one. Woulda been nice to save the time, miles on my truck, and $2.60/gallon gas had I known I wouldn't be able to get into the DCC. Great way to round up fan support.

Sincerely,

SPD

I have to apologize and take responsibility for not getting the word out. We were told by Ole Miss just prior to Saturday night's game that the Sunday night game would not be open to the public. They said they'd allow 100 MSU fans inside so we made a list about 70 or so people we knew would be attending and gave it to the DCC, assuming they'd let in the remaining people to round out the 100 limit. Unfortunately the DCC employees would not allow this.

The late notice of Ole Miss and, well, whatever the DCC employees were doing was a curveball and we did not react the way we should have for our fans' sakes. Please accept my personal apology and contact me if you were turned away from the arena on Sunday night and I will do what I can to make it up to you.

Thanks,
Alex Palmer

Its their home games, they can do whatever they want. Giving us roughly 24 hour notice that the Sunday game is closed to the public is not fair, but what can we do? We've considered closing games to the public in Tupelo to keep rental cheap but we know we have the best fans in the SEC and can easily pay for the rental with ticket sales. If you were at the game in Southaven on Saturday night you'd know Ole Miss can't come close to making enough money on ticket sales for that.
