How many seniors are on this years Riverheads team I have been meaning to look I’m thinking that we are fairly young

If you are talking starters I believe there are 5 on O and 4 or 5 on D with 3 of them being two way players.
Gage Maxfield at center, Deacon Moore at TE and another lineman but I cant remember right off the top of my head. There may be another TE or SE that rotates in occasionally that is a senior as well but the starting lineup on O would have 5 if I am not mistaken.
I do not have anything with me at the moment to look up but I did check the overall roster this weekend and we have either 12 or 13 seniors total. So my guess is that all your estimates are in the ballpark. But you know how it is at Riverheads.......reload every year.
The JV team is on fire this year so I cant wait to see those young men get their chance at a role on the team next year as well. These next 4-5 years may be the best overall group collectively to come through Riverheads and that's saying something. I will also say the part that impresses me the most as a fan is that there are no sacred cows and most of these young men excel at other sports as well. We get to see plenty of them on the court and diamond as the sports season changes. We are beyond blessed with the support and leadership in our little corner of Augusta County.
My expectation for this year was a rebounding and rebuild year but the games I have watched we are pretty strong in a lot of areas they may not win it this year but they are pretty good
Given the success of the JV team this year, as well as the past several years, I honestly don't see a "down year" coming for quite a while. We have some freshmen and eighth-graders that look like they have incredible potential. As for your current question about seniors.........no matter how many we lose, it certainly will not impact the running back position very much. We have what I consider to be six very capable backs, and five of the six will be back next year.
And two more JV backs that could get significant carries next year. The retooled D is the part that is what I am watching more closely. If the play is close to last week, we will be fine. Two lineman on D and 2 DB’s are seniors so they are fairly young there as well.
I agree I believe 44 could start and do well on the varsity now and hes only an 8th grader.
2 more years after this year or at least that’s what I have heard. The next coach is likely already on staff and being groomed to take the wheel. I don’t know how you replace his and Norcross’s eye for the little details that cause them to make subtle changes.
Can someone pleaseet us outsiders know exactly what went down in the off-season with coaching change. Lol
Bottom line the new coach had a monumental difference in philosophy on how the defense was to be run, after meeting with the new head coach the assistants werent onboard with his new philosophy they subsequently resigned. Not enough time to find a new coach, Casto didnt want to leave the kids hanging so he asked to come back. Thats basically it in a nutshell.
