STARKVILLE STARKVEGAS— Mississippi State went through a few rough patches Saturday in its 75-66 exhibition win against Lindsey Wilson College, especially on defense.Dingleberry and Co. laid a pre-slimmed down Renardo Sidney sized turd at the Hump Saturday afternoon.

Make sure to read our coverage of the game in the Sunday edition of The Clarion-Ledger. Please buy a paper. I need a job really badly and we're about to go all belly-up on yall's ***.

WHAT HAPPENED? | Ravern Johnson was the leader on offense with his 25 points and scored the first seven points and doesn't know how to play defense. The Bulldogs were unablehave never been ableto find an identity on offense in the first half ever, but the Bulldogs were more aggressiveluckierin the second half after some words of advice from forward Elgin Bailey Noah Stansbury at halftime.

STAT OF THE GAME | First and second half free throws: The Bulldogs hit 5 of 10 free throws in the first half and 16 of 25 in the second half. The final 17'ing score. How does the SEC West pre-season champion not blowout a college who is named after a cheerleader.

TURNING POINT | Kodi Augustus hit two free throws, grabbed a defensive rebound and hit a 3-pointer in succession to break a tie and give MSU a 71-66 lead with less than 2 minutes remaining. Stansbury "seal clapped" andyelled motion, which is tricky, because it actually means stand still... then everyone stood around... and Kodi fired up fade-away three and banked itin. And boom goes the dynamite.

PLAYER OF THE GAME | Kodi Augustus. He stepped up in the second half and grabbed eight of his game-high 11 rebounds during that stretch. You guys are 17'ed if Kodi is going to be your team leader.

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT | “We’ve got to build on the second half and take it into practice. It’s going to be a quick learning process. The real thing is coming up now. We’re really going to have to focus on defense.” "I sure as 17 hope Renardo Sidney is as good at Carmelo Anthony, otherwise I should've taken that Clemson gig. Holy Mother Mary, we're awful."- Rick Stansbury

Put down the Haterade. Not saying we're Syracuse, but they lost to DII Le Moyne in an exhibition last year before winning 30 games.

We'll be average at best with our primary frontcourt and backcourt players out. If Stansbury blows this season, I'll be right there with ya... but you're a bit premature.

This may be premature but if you watched today's game you would have seen that we looked like ****. The positives were hard to find. Yeah it was a game that meant nothing but we better hope we drastically improve before the season opener. Without Bost and Sidney we're going to struggle unless someone besides Ravern steps up.

People can hate on Stansbury all they want but we always seem to build through the year and start playing our best ball right before the SEC tournament. These guys have been playing pick-up ball in Sanderson for the past 4 months and two of our starters are out. It's not surprising we would look less that awesome.

closer to the truth than the original. BTW, is it just me, but of the couple of videos I have seen of Stansbury's pressers he seems to be like a man beaten down, no excitement or smiles. Not the typical upbeat Stans we know and love. Just an observation.

This has got to be a record for the earliest Stansbury bashing in history. Coach34 would be proud.

I can tell you now that we are going to look like crap for the first 9 games and may very well lose one or two. We are without 2 potential first team All SEC players (Bost, Sidney). We have 2 returning starters both of which are headcases. 3 guys coming off of injuries that missed an entire season (Bailey,Beckham,Smith). 2 new guys (Steele, Bryant). A shooting guard that is terrified of shooting (Benock). That leaves Lewis and Riek which may or may not develop.

If playing sloppy ball freaks you out this much then tune it out until mid January.

I hope I'm wrong on all accounts, honestly... Nothing would make me happier than us winning every game.

It isn't Lindesy Wilson a glorified high school program? Should we not have any trouble, whatsover, putting these guys away?
