First off if you’re worried about underage sales have a cop stand by the point of sale. The concessions worker has to scan the ID before you even say what you want. That knocks out part of the underage problem. Keep those areas everywhere but the student section concourse.

Have a party deck/restaurant sponsored by MS breweries like Mayhew Junction or Lazy Magnolia. Both the owners went to State. Call it Sippin’ State, it would be a unique area that also serves dishes from different parts of MS. You can do BBQ, catfish, shrimp etc. you can also have it open on non gamedays for lunch and dinner. That way the booze is in an area that’s still in the stadium and open to everyone unlike club level.

There you go, free idea.

Why is this still a topic of conversation. The problem is not Keenum, it's the state law. Point your faux outrage elsewhere.

We will have alcohol sales eventually. Sooner rather than later.

Most events don't have the person serving the beer check the ID. There's usually a booth that gives out wristbands.

Even forgetting the issue with the law, We have gone what 105 years with beer sales at Davis Wade. We can wait one more and make sure we do it right rather than rush it.

Agreed. People are freaking out about nothing. We are far from the only school that has said it won’t happen this year. Hell Keenum didn’t even say it won’t ever happen.

Yes. Do away with the Ramada inn idea you have attached to the stadium. The south endzone should be a different type of experience that ties the Junction, MClub, and stadium together.

It can be both.
You can have a cool hotel.
You can tie together.
It can have a cool bar/restaurant.
It can be built for future expansion.

Most saturdays there are roughly 100k people on campus. There are 100k ideas or more.

Don’t be butt hurt that they don’t go with “your” idea.

Pointing that at everyone not just you Arch.

I’m cool with the hotel idea, I think you could incorporate this into it. I won’t be sore unless we just decide not to ever sell and leave money on the table.

What if they designed the entry-way similar to DNF? With the wrought iron and a mural on the floor of the dropdown M to U under the S? But it's like walking into the Atrium of a Hotel, lets call it the DawgHouse (very original, I know).
OR, you could design it with the façade of an old-school train station (hence "the junction"). Inside have access to the potential lofts for the south end (designed similarly to the ones in LFL) along with entrances to the E and W stadium seating. Keep it free to the public with only ticket holders having access to any field entrances and have some type of attraction inside to draw in fans to learn more about the history of the school and/or football program...or any athletic program, maybe have an athletic Wall of Fame accessible to the general public. Ptolemy is buried beneath the field...tip our hats to all of the mascots or something, idk.

This is incorrect. Music festivals and such do wristbands, but every sporting event I have been to in the last 5 years checks your ID at the point of sale.

Most events don't have the person serving the beer check the ID. There's usually a booth that gives out wristbands.

Only issue, the first iteration looked like a ramada inn. And our endzone should not look like a hotel. PERIOD

See there are plenty of people who love the idea of that uniqueness.
Nice looking hotel with balconies facing the field like the LFL lofts
Nice premium seating options
Nice bar/restaurant
Regular folk seating
Etc

It doesn’t have to fit your mold or my mold. It needs to fit what’s best for the university

I mean, the NFL (and many college stadiums) do this on the reg with no problem at all. There's a correct way to do this and shouldn't be an issue at all if the leadership really was serious about implementing this.

At NFL games I simply walk up to the point of sale, show my ID, pay them some doll hairs, they give me an adult beverage and all is well. This can't be too difficult.

Campus is in Oktibbeha County as well which is dry, it's not in city limits. It was originally in the current city annexation discussion but was dropped from the area included in annexation

Not sure the NFL model is one to follow. I’ve seen some horrible drunks at Saints and Cowboy games in the past few years along with some fights that probably would not have occurred without the alcohol. Hey, I was drinking beer as well, but some people have zero control.

In the grand scheme of things it shouldn’t be difficult, but it’s not something you do without putting thought into it.

I’m sure some thought has been and is being put into it.
