It was a horrid display. On the other hand, it's probably not all that noteworthy to those outside the South, since they all think we're racist rednecks anyway. And if anyone's interested, I won that big bet the other night.

when people see this, they will assume it is ALL Mississippians that think like this. I had to take my laptop in the back room of the house before I listened to that because my 10 year old daughter was in the room while reading this post. She has never even heard the "magic" word" but she is associated with that piece of **** by simply being born in the state where he goes to school. Have no doubt, this controversy will definitely drive the nail into any chances Ole Miss has of clinging on to their "traditions." The only good thing I see coming out of this is Ole Miss won't be able to recruit very effectively for a long time, in my opinion.

ONE guy spews racial slurs. Then he is soundly rejected by his peers. His school is looking long and hard to see if the rules will allow kicking him out.

This is news? It isn't. And that's why nobody is picking up on it.

Mississippi State has the rep as being the haven of racial tolerance in a sea of white-sheeted, tobacky-spit-droolin, cross-burning racism. We're the ones who heroically went to play Loyola in 1963, when the Ole Miss Legislature put up road blocks and landmines to keep the basketball team in the State. MState was the one to hire a black head coach. MState has the only Southern tradition (cowbells) that hasn't been banned by the 14th Amendment.

Remember, this is only the perception, but as we've learned 90% of all perception is true.
