Hey Rebels, if Texas does it, you can too.

<h2>Big 12 champs*</h2> <p class="byline">By Kirk Bohls | Sunday, April 5, 2009, 05:36 PM</p>

Officially, the Texas football team did not win the Big 12 championship last fall. But don't tell Texas.</p> <div style="float: right;">
</div>

On the walls of the team meeting room inside Moncrief-Neuhaus Complex, the school lists all their national championships, SWC and Big 12 champions and South Division titles.</p>

On the west wall under Big 12 championships is include the year 2008 with an asterisk. The Longhorns did tie Oklahoma and Texas Tech for the South Division crown but lost out to the Sooners under the conference tie-breaker rules that may or may not be under discussion at the league meetings in Colorado in May.</p>

Said one school official, "We beat both teams (OU and North Division winner Missouri). I thought that (championship game in Kansas City) was for the runnerup spot."</p>

I saw it on their equipment truck this past season. I believe they even had rings made. I know they asked Jackie about it one time and he response was something to the degree of "I dont know what they've got but you can come in here and see the trophy if you want."

Hell, Alabama claims about 4-5 National Championships that were 'awarded' retroactively.
