Hey Todd, Baseball Recruit Question...

I usually talk baseball with a co-worker of mine who lives in Fairhope, who is a bama guy, and he keeps me updated on how Garrett Pitts and Daryl Norris are doing throughout the season. According to him, Pitts is tearing the cover off of the ball right now and he also says that there is a sophomore last name Domino, who's dad is an assitant coach and State grad, that is a stud (hit one out of Hank Aaron Stadium in a tourney)and should be coming our way in a few years.

This co-worker came in this morning talking about the game that Fairhope played last night against Pace High School out of Pensacola and Pace won. Said Norris pitched for Farihope but the guy pitching for Pace was the stud of the night and supposedly he has signed with State. I don't keep up with Baseball recruiting very much and I was curious if you know who this guy is and if you know anything about him? If we do indeed have him on board and he is as good as this guy is saying, then we may have a hell of a freshman class next year again.</p>

I believe he is referring to CT Bradford. His dad played under Polkand he signed with us, but received interest from LSU, Virginia, Florida State, Miami, UCF and Auburn (lifted from an interview). I will defer to Todd, but I believe he will primarilyplay OF in college.

right now from what I understand. Recruiting is the one place we aren't struggling in baseball right now

than the fact that Pace has always been a baseball factory and I'll be happy to take players from there.

I'm stationed in Milton (Pace's sister city). They are indeed a powerhouse. The amount of baseball fields around is kind of crazy. Pace is a very nice growing city.

Sounds like everyone else has figured that out though. He does pitch, and yes, he plays CF, and he will be a CF for us. He will also be our lead off hitter in a couple of years, I think. His Dad is Mike Bradford who played for Polk in the 80's- 1983 I think.

CT is about 5'9"-5'10" and he is going to be a guy that steals bases, gets on base, plays good defense and has a good arm.

Garrett Pitts is hitting over .500 right now for Fairhope. He is learning how to catch this year, so he will be a little raw in that regard when he comes in unless he is just a natural. He is a guy that is a Bulldog fan, wants to play for MSU, is a tough, hard nosed player. He also has 6 home runs for Fairhope. I think he may RS just to learn the position a little bit better.

Daryl Norris is undefeated right now- either 4-0 or 6-0,I can't remember, and an ERA of something like 1.13. He has four home runs himself and my concern is he is only hitting in the .330's- I like to see guys at least hit .400 in high school, and I prefer .500. I think Norris is more of a pitcher than anything, and he may even be a weekend starter next year.

Also of note- all three players mentioned are Louisville Slugger AA's. Who said that we only recruit Mississippi?
