If your players take UL seriously preparing and playing them I think you could whip those boys into submission. You can't go into the game with a SEC superior attitude, UL uses that to beat half-interested SEC teams regularly. Play like it means something to you and you should be fine. You won't intimidate them, you will have to beat them.

Yes, if the LSU defense comes ready to play you should win this game. You all have the athletes to do what Houston did when they shutdown the University of Lamar, just make sure he gets hit every time on the read option. The RBs will not be able to beat you and when Lamar gets rattled his passing becomes eratic.

Control Jackson's rushing yrds, win the game. I may even put a few bucks on you.

I hate that the gametime is the same as ours.

I really like this matchup and anxious to see how it turns out. I hope LSU just dismantles the Cards.

Some teams during bowl games doesn't take them seriously and end up getting embarrassed. Everyone is talking about LF not playing due to risk of injury, etc. But what about some of UofL's big studs on D? Harvey-Clemons has been banged up entire 2nd half of season, and their big DE has 1st round ability, so will he be going all out risking injury? Who knows.

I just hope both teams come ready to play with ALL their players and see who the best team is. If Lamar wins the Heisman, I think it may motivate the LSU defense to shut him down.

Plus the fact that Coach O just got the full time position, I'm sure he's going to do all he can to show the fans, and LSU administration, and the rest of the CFB world that he was the right hire and doesn't allow LSU to come out flat, and his players will actually want to come out and play hard in support of him.

My biggest concern is LSU not coming to play. This season has been a huge disappointment and I fear the team will go through the motions. Also, LSU was projected to play Nebraska but got Louisville hope the team isn't disappointed or feels respected.

I am personally. He lit a fire under the players and salvaged the season. He loves LSU and is a great recruiter. I think he will get it done in a way that plea the fan base/powers that be. To answer above post concerning LF I think he will play if his ankle is healed.

As many already noted, the only threat is being disinterested. An sec team with high hopes, followed by a disappointing season are almost always susceptible to a let down. Especially dangerous where the other team will be playing with a chip on their shoulder.

The only thing that might make this different is they'll be facing Lamar. So hopefully they'll come to play.

Come to play, and it'll be a beatdown.

Well, LSU is also completely one-dimensional. That's going to hurt them, because they don't seem to have the threats on the edges that Kentucky used so successfully to soften up UofL early.

I think LSU's front seven is more than a match for UofL's completely overwhelmed O-line, and if LSU wins the game, that's where they do it.

Jackson is not the best at keeping his eyes up once he begins to move. The successful defense will overload a side or make the C-G-C adjust post snap. Those 3 in particular are not above aversge in remaining balanced and below average in foot speed. If the defense does not get him off his spot when he is passing, he can put the ball in spots against man or zone. He is a one read QB still at this stage.

The power read and its abundance of variants will again be the point of attack. UK forced him to give and then ultimately to throw to tight end. The number of penalties and miscues they commit, the D is much better served forcing their O to drive 10 plays. If the D allows Jackson to get chunks, and scores quick, it will be a struggle for the Tigers. Couple of examples.

To LSU fan:

DO NOT underestimate Louisville, I disagree that they are a one man team, they have top drawer receivers and TE, and I think Radcliff is pretty damn good. Plus Petrino is a top notch coach.

I do not think their offensive line or their defensive personnel, from top to bottom, are a top line SEC caliber team. They do have excellent individuals on defense, like Hearns, Kelsey, Harvey-Clemons, Brown and Fields, but UK gained nearly 600 yards and scored 41 points, so you can move the ball and score some.

I'll join the chores, a combination of different alignments and blitzes to bring both pressure and contain. Giving Jackson a different look on each down is they key to keeping him from killing you.

But don't overlook the Card's defense. Going into our game they were ranked #9 nationally in the S&P+. Yes I think that may be a bit inflated but they're pretty good. We needed to throw the ball a lot becasue they consistently played 8 up front. They'll probably do something similar against the Tigers.

Thanks for visiting and good luck in your game - we'll be watching and cheering - SEC!

Our defense mauled Lamar Jackson and I think LSU's defense is one of the best in the country with holding Alabama to only 10 points. I hope you all maul them. I'll cheer along with you all when you do.

Once teams stared forcing him to give on the reads, it really slowed down their success. Plus it frustrates LJ, and makes him start pressing, which leads to his mistakes.

You absolutely must make him give the ball. If you let him keep, he'll just kill you.

Another good point about making them snap it alot. LJ presses for big plays, and gets frustrate just marching down the field. Mistake prone on longer drives.

LSU is superior to Louisville in most every phase except quarterback, the Tigers offensive line should wear down UL and the athletes on defense should neutralize Jackson. Also LSU can and will pass if they have too, Louisville hasn't seen many Offensive lines like LSU. like some have said, LSU needs to be ready to play, if they are it should be like UL vs Georgia a few years ago. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Concerned about the team mailing it in. At he beginning of the season playing Louisville in a meaningless bowl game wasn't the goal.

Congrats on earning a bowl bid and best wishes for a successful outcome. I'll be pulling for you guys. Having played Louisville, do you think LSU has a chance to get a win. TIA
Bring the same D y'all had v Bama and you'll be fine. They haven't seen a D as good as the Bayou Bengals all season. We ran for 200+ on em so let Fournette eat.

Stop one player and you stop their whole team, I think LSU wins. Have you all had to deal with their fans yet?

You guys just need a fabulous OC and a good QB. Once you have that, no one will want to play you.

If LSU shows up to play and doesn't mail it in you guys should win. They can't stop the run and the last time I checked you have two beast in the backfield. Just feed those guys the ball and don't try to get too cute with the play calling. Also if I was your DC I would bring a lot of pressure, UofL oline can't pick up the rush worth a damn so you all should get to Lamar 10 times at least based of what we did and what Houston did.

This seems to be a problem with SEC teams that don't get into to playoffs. They just show up and go thru the motions. With Orgeron being the new coach he should have their full attention. Hopefully he will let them know that their playing future is on the line.

If LSU comes to play and contain Jackson they will win. If not, UL will embarrass them.

Honestly think Guice runs all over UL and LSU wins by 14+. I may be wrong but I definitely didn't see anything great out of UL except Lamar and as we all know LSU has top notch personnel and great run support on D. Stop Lamar and you all run away with it

That's the downside of the playoff system, bowls are viewed as less important to teams and fans, especially upper tier type teams that shoot for national championships, and if/when they go to 8 teams, bowls will be even less important

Dead on especially this part . . . Make sure Lamar gets hit on every read option. He is the primary key PERIOD. Radcliff is good but the key is making Lamar the KEY! And it does affect his passing game as you pointed out.

You have the RB's, and Louisville's defensive line is not that good. Stop LJ and you will win, which I think you will. GO SEC!
