What has happened to the program that they have fallen off so much?
0-10 this year when they used to win 7-8+ games each year not that long ago.
job will be filled from within the division from a school who had their best year this year.
Did they lose all their talent to the Cabarrus County Portal, or was this the result of bad coaching?
I have been told there are lots of athletes walking the hallways who chose to not play. The transfer portal number was insanely inflated, and a couple kids who tried were sent back.
Where are kids wanting to play at in Cabarrus Co? Not knocking other schools but HR has some, if not best, facilities in the county. Granted, I have not seen West Cabarrus.
Everyone has said JM Robinson is trying to recruit everyone haha I am sure the numbers are exaggerated, and I know they have at least one P5 kid on the team. Sounds more like a coaching/culture issue than anything else.
I believe some went to Chambers and JMR and prob NWC if I had to guess a few options
Lack of leadership at that school for years now. They have had tremendous turnover not only in coaching staff/ranks but on the teacher side as well. Hopefully, they can right the ship with a new hire and the kids can get excited again. That JV team wasn't all that bad. They could return to prominence with the right hire. I'm sure their AD will get the right guy.

Agree! West had the nicest facilities around! I believe 3 turf fields!
From what I read he said he was retiring for football after 29 years and focusing on education.

I have heard some good ones but none of those.
Coach Sowell isn't leaving Monroe. No way. I can't see Smith leaving his alma mater, but maybe.
Deese and Carter are good options though.
I’ll disagree with the Cab co portal hurting them because NW lost a couple huge players and they were very successful. What a lot of people don’t know is the “5 kids who left HR” had players go back after they were looked into. I’d say HR lost 2 starters. The issue is the athletes in the building who won’t play.
I wonder if Jordan Marsh (former HR OL coach with Marty Paxton/Jason Seidel) would have any interest in the job? I know he’s a little younger, but he could be getting a phone call - he and the AD know each other pretty well.
Should be lots of quality candidates to pick from - Harrisburg is a great little area and the Harrisburg Cowboys/HR JV football pipelines seem to be infused with some talent right now.

I think the top 3 applications will be outstanding coaches. This is a big job at a great school, with amazing facilities! This will be big!
I don’t know anything about the district or the surrounding area. How does the Central Cabarrus job compare to HR now that it is open? I would think that many of the applicants would apply at both just based on location.
HR has more community support and $$$ - but other than that I would say there are more similarities than differences. Both schools have athletes in the hallways and their facilities are similar - I’d tend to give the edge to HR due to the community support and JV/little league programs.
Huge hire for HR from a guy who had a couple great seasons in Cab Co. should be named within the week.
