thoughts?

I hate it. I think starting at the 25 would be good.

Not to whine too much within 36 hours of a stinging loss but I hate the 10 yard line start point and was shocked when I saw it for the first time yesterday. You are already in FG range before you run a play and one ten yard drive is literally a coin flip on stopping as a defense. If I have 25 yards behind me I can actually run a real D. I hated the position you are put in as the 2nd up. I felt like we had to go for 2 on first spin because HC would do the same when they had the hammer the 2nd OT.

It's better than a tie, but the 25 is where it should start. Make them earn it.

I like it. A 27 yard fg in high school is not automatic.

Overtime is not to replace the fact that a team couldn't get it done during the first 4 quarters. Considering both teams start from the 10, I don't see the issue.

seeing all those points scored from the 10 leading to triple and quadruple overtimes is like a sugar high to the offenses!! 50-46 final scores..... yummy!! However - very unfair to the Defenses in my opinion. I personally think the HS overtime favors the teams with more dynamic offenses.

There are very few OT periods that go past 1 or 2. It is more likely if you start at the 25.

regardless of how many overtime periods or the average # of overtime periods this year or over the years......Do you think the OT starting at the 10 favors the offense or the Defense? My hypothesis is that it would favor the more dynamic offense and a Defensive led team would be at a disadvantage. Agree/Disagree - thoughts?

It favors the line on either team. Unless you have 6'2 are taller WR on both sides, having better skill is somewhat negated in short yardage situations.
