UGA and Florida are horrible. Ole Miss would have scored alot more than 10 on Florida. Ole Miss fans are rooting for us to win so Mullen will leave at year's end.We have been recorded paying a big time recruit, and rebs are just waiting for the right time to "drop the bomb." At least these are the phone calls and texts I have recieved so fartoday(should be noted I haven't opened my mouth and instigated the first one).

I know not all Rebel fans are this way, but I am around the most obnoxious one ever born fairly regularly due to marriage. The last 10 years havehugged donkey balls to say the least. Thank you Dan Mullen. I can't wait for Thanksgiving dinner.

regarding Georgia and Florida from an Ole Miss fan. My follow up question to said Ole Miss fan was this: So, you would have traded Jacksonville State and Vandy for Georgia and Florida?

...This is the worst Florida team in decades, they have no talent, no power runner, blah blah blah. Fact is, we took the air out of the ball and Chris White (with his sacks and cutting off sweeps) made them play smashmouth ball all night. The Mississippi State University whipped a ranked team, and whipped them good. We left 17 points on the field with stupid penalties.

He's never had a team lose more than 3 games in a regular season ever, not even at Bowling Green or Utah, and he's on his way to that this year. I don't think they'll finish in the Top 25 either. They'll lose to at least one of Georgia, SC, and FSU to finish with 4 or 5 regular season losses.

They're still a good team, but right now they are no better than the 5th or 6th best team in the SEC if that.

He has a good excuse. They did lose 9 players to the draft, most of their defense, and the QB that was made specifically for that offense, but they are definitely worse than any other Florida team Meyer has had. They've played well a few times this year, which is why I say they're still a good team, but they're a step back from the typical Florida team. That's pretty clear.

Would you have rather played UGA and Florida over JSU and Vandy?

Yeah it's funny - if they had beaten us they'd be 4-2 and sitting pretty on their way to winning the SECE, but since they didn't they are a TURRIBLE team that can't play their way out of a paper sack.

It is so damned awesome to listen to Mississippi Black Bear fans rationalize and poor-mouth us at every opportunity.

I don't know what the authoritative source for all things schedule-related is. I assume we are in the Top 25 - even with a down Florida and UGA.

Plus, I don't really care if we got a little lucky with having those guys being down (relative to their normal strength) considering the hellish schedules we've had the past couple of years. I'll take a couple of breaks, for once. The naysayers can kiss my arse.

that gave us no credit for being anything better than a 4-7 team entering the Egg Bowl last year. Hell their team and staff was on board with that and it was their undoing. I hope they go into it this year thinking they're playing a 7 win (or whatever we are at that point) team that was really just lucky and not that good. Do that and we'll walk out with another easy W.

Georgia and Florida are both a damn sight better than either Vandy or Jacksonville State. It is also true that the Bears SHOULD have been 5-0 to start the season. No we are not as good as we think we are or as good as we will be. But it the Mississippi Rebel Black Bears are neither as good as ya"ll thought you were nor are your the prospects for getting any better.

There now, we both know our place.......

and that they're finding themselves in a similar situation to where we were last year, although we were there because of our schedule and they just dug their own hole with Vandy and JSU. They're improving but the problem is the tests they have are just too much. @Alabama is damn near impossible @Fayetteville isn't much easier. They might be able to catch Auburn flat after LSU but still you're talking about a 7-1 or 8-0 team. The weakest SEC team they have left, UT, is on the road. Then they get to play @LSU and finish with us. We could enter the egg bowl playing a 4-win team that's actually a good bit better than they seem. Sound familiar? I do expect them to beat UT and get to 5 wins though and I wouldn't be shocked if they got 1 from Arkansas, Auburn, or LSU as well.

Our schedule is tough coming up, but their's is tougher. I get your inference about last year. I ain't counting the Egg Bowl as a win and acutually see us as a likely loser. BUT, if our defense continues to improve some each week and we can throw the ball a little our chances are better than 50% there.

Worst Florida team under Urban Meyer = pretty good football team. They're going to be an 8-4 team most likely, which is still good to the rest of us, just by Florida standards under Meyer, it's bad.

I also realize we choked on one against some bad football teams. That doesn't have anything to do with the fact that it's still Meyer's worst football team at Florida, so I don't get your point.

With that, I'll add that peanut butter sandwiches taste better with jelly on them, if we're going to make unrelated statements?

If you were not one of the completely idiotic Bear fans that said you"wished you had Florida and Georgia" on your schedule...because if you cannot beat Jacksonville State and Vandy, you sure as hell are not going to come close to beating Georgia or Florida.

And I am glad you like jelly so much. What else is in your picnic basket Boo Boo?

that they get the worst TN team since the 70's or 80's and of course Vandy as you mentioned. We don't have the luxury of playing either one of them. On the non-conference side it seems like they have the easiest 4 games in the country for 99th time in the last 100 years.

The talent on that team is 100 times the talent on our team. So that means that Floridas staff got outcoached by MS State's. So our coaching staff is better than Florida's, I'll take that.

Florida's offense has absolutely no identity, their play calling is very suspect, and the team is overall just beat down after this last 3 game stretch. They will get healthier thats for sure but they only have 2 more games on their schedule that are sure wins. 7-5 or even 6-6 is likely for this gator team

It's the same as last year when I was pointing out that UM was a ridiculously bad team to make it to the Cotton Bowl, much less win one.

UM combined a ridiculously easy schedule witha flukish year in the SEC where everybody beyond the top 2 were very flawed and made it to a Cotton Bowl.Thengottowin a Cotton bowlthatwas more or less indistinguishablefrom two monkey's trying to 17 a football.I would have obviously gladly traded places (other than the trajectories of the team) in a heartbeat, but the statement about UM being at best an average team wasn't sour grapes, just an accurate observation.

Same as MSU and its UF win. MSU just had a good win. Nothing wrong with recognizing that it's not the same as beating one of the previous 3 UF teams in the swamp, it was still a good win.

That's true...

and to be fair, this IS the best team Robbie Caldwell has ever fielded as head coach at Vandy, so I guess it all evens out.

You guys have nothing to worry about. You got beat by the turkey'seminator'steam that slaughteredgridiron titanslike Eastern Illinois, played an unstoppable FCS juggernaut like Jacksonville State closer than anyone, and lost the 'Utah' game to the best Alabama team Nick Saban's ever had. Don't worry about anything brother, the Bears are one team in this state on the rise!

Come one Bruiser, sing it with me...

Bear down, Mississippi Bears! Make every play (particularly the drop back pretend to run sideline pass) clear the path to victory! You thrilled the nation with your Wild Rebel Bear Formation! You're the pride of Northwest Mississippi, Mississippi Bears, Bear down!

...the '02 and '03 teams were the products of Steve Spurrier's lackadaisical recruiting his last few years there. The team The Mississippi State University whipped last night was loaded with 4 and 5-star talent from top to bottom.

It's just that tMSU is better coached and has better character.
