Reported by the OWH that Coach Riley requested the team chant "hip, hip hooray!" after the win.

Seems corny, and Riley even admitted as much, but I guess it's kinda cool? Outside of the fact that the cheer seems more relevant in the 50s, I do like the team celebrating a victory in unison.

Thoughts?

Just gotta compromise: "Hip- Hip - Hooray! Ho oh ... Hey... Ho oh!..." I had a "For he's a jolly-good fellow" ready for our DTs, had they recorded a sack. Suh was a jolly-good fellow, of sorts (minus some of the dirty play). Disrupted so much-- which nobody can deny...

...probably about as corny as singing "Come A Runnin' Boys!" was in 1941.

Mike Riley then said the following to one of his players (video):

What do you think of that, Mr. Pajama-Wearing, Basket-Face, Slipper-Wielding, Clype-Dreep-Bachle, Gether-Uping-Blate-Maw, Bleathering, Gomeril, Jessie, Oaf-Looking, Schooner, Nyaff, Plookie, Shan, Milk-Drinking, Soy-Faced Shilpit, Mim-Moothed, Sniveling, Worm-Eyed, Hotten-Blaugh, Vile-Stoochie, Cally-Breek-Tattie?

am pretty sure Bo never received a game ball from his teams. Good for Riley! This was a great win vs an underrated opponent.

Watching Jerry Kill dance was even more painful. Sometimes corny is okay after a win, 18 years old or 60 years old.

In my day, we had no rap music... and we liked it. We didn't twerk or pierce our nipples. We tucked our shirts in, wore socks and and held our pants up with a belt. We didn't have no Play Stations or Xboxes. No we just had checkers... and we liked it!

The video is on twitter. He made a joke of it first and the players seemed to oblige and thought it was funny.

That's what I figured. Riley isnt that out of touch, he has been surrounded by 20 year olds his whole life. But I'm sure he is aware of the fact that people think he is corny, happy go lucky old dude, so he played it up.
