that all presidents since the income tax amendment would be labeled socialists under the current day view? I mean under Bush 41 for example, the richest people paid 36% while the poorest paid nothing. So I guess Bush was a socialist too, god damn redistributors of wealth!

Unless you support a completely flat tax, then you agree with the redistribution of wealth that has been going on since the income tax was initially set up. I personally haven't heard McCain's plan for a flat tax to get rid of the rich paying a bigger percentage, and I don't even think Sarah Palin could tell you what 36% means.

The only person I can think of in recent memory that ran on a flat tax platform was Steve Forbes, and we see how far that got him.
