Gary Patterson is an interesting name. He fell off the last 3-4 years at TCU, but that could have been just burn out after 20 years. Rebuilding Houston would be doable with the right coach. They can put together a top 20 class within 50 miles of campus every year.
Probably was the gettable guy that could have kept the air raid intact, but wouldn't have ended well

They’ve always been kind of batshit crazy there. But they’re in full panic mode ever since Texas joined the SEC.
That level of dysfunction is just crazy, given how much money they have. they could pay me $1000 and within 5 days I’d have them a good coach at the going rate, without a 100 million dollar buyout.
The scariest part is that most of fans I talked to today are happy about it because “the players love him”.
