Also to note, K-State faked a field goal in the 4th quarter too and failed miserably... they lost by 2. Wild, wild finish.

an official with an ego.

I didn't watch the whole thing, but did they have some other problems with unsportsmanlike conduct or celebration? If not, that's a pretty terrible way to have the opportunity taken from you.

if you score a td to win the game but high step into the endzoneor do anything the official deems as taunting they will take the TD off the board and back you up 15 yards.

...if you have those rules in college football, THEN DON'T CELEBRATE IN THE END ZONE! He could always hand the ball to the official, run towards the sidelines, and then do the TD dance on your own sidelines.

is it's a penalty for "excessive celebration," not "celebration." There is no way in the world that any person with some competency can construe what he did as "excessive."

There should never be a question whether an excessive celebration penalty was a good call. It should only be called for flagrant violations. If there is any question at all, just don't make the call. That referee potentially changed the outcome of the game, and that's just not acceptable. He should be suspended and forced to apologize to Kansas St., both in person and publicly.
