Figured they were parentless, from single parent homes, or perhaps the stereotypical inner city kid that needed some help along the way. It's amazing how many kids live (or just exist, actually) in terrible conditions at home.<div>
</div><div>Jerry apparently had other motives in mind when he started Second Mile though ....</div>

For all the **** he put those kids through, and he still has a smug look on his face... I wouldn't mind hearing about him suffering due to someone's justice.

Most big campuses have police forces that are responsible for the campus - the problem is the conflict of interest inherent in that arrangement, as they are not independent of the administration - often they are under the direct governance of the administration. I've seen this time and time again when I was teaching at R1's - girl gets assaulted, reports it to the campus police, and the campus cops are more interested in making the problem go away than in investigating the crime, because schools like to present themselves to parents as safe places to be. One real advantage to small schools, e.g. Milsaps, is that admin are required by law to pass along these incidents to authorities, and those authorities are independent of the school, i.e. JPD.

I couldn't have done anything else until Sandusky was brought to justice. To hell with losing my job. Stopping Sandusky would have been my job.

Senior Vice President for Finance and Business Gary Schultz testified that the 1998 incident was reviewed by the Uni Police and "the child protection agency" with the blessing of then-University counsel Wendell Courtney. Courtney was then and remains cousel for The Second Mile.

They investigated and even listened in when Sandusky was called by the mother of one of the kids. I'm sure sure if campus police are considered "real" police or not.<div>
</div><div>Anyway, the case was dropped by the police. And the VP that was indicted is over the campus police department.</div><div>
</div><div>It's all in the Grand Jury indictment, easily found with Google.</div>
