So KY gets to shoot free throws to start the game. That kid better hope it isn't a one or two point loss.

OF COURSE Kentucky gets to shoot free throws before the game starts because of this. It's impressive to see the zebras going full (apparently censored combination of referee and Kentucky) before the game even starts.

Yes, it's a rule. But in how many other games have you EVER seen it called?

More from the UK beat writer on the most petty, gift-wrapped UK way to begin a game. Slive is still probably at full mast:
So the specific rule is you can't dunk in warmups once the clock hits 20 minutes. K-State walk-on dunked at 19:58.

In Thread Buy/Sell:

Coach Cal would have gained some of your respect if he instructed his player to purposefully miss both shots.

In an 8-9 game? Surely you can't be serious.

If they were a 1 seed playing a woefully outmatched opponent, maybe, but not in any other case.

A little rule history: back in the olden days, the rim was usually attached directly to a glass backboard. The result: renardo Sidney type players hanging on the rim could shatter the backboard. It was started as a preventive measure to avoid needlessly shattering the backboard.

Now, modern goals are attached to the main goal support and not the glass.

It's an outdated rule. I'd never call it on a team nor would I expect it to be called.

I was hoping that was the reason.

I figures some of those rules were... you know... something Adolph Rupp would have preferred.
