Watching MNF I've heard the "altitude" bit a couple of times already. This got me to thinking... Is Denver's altitude the greatest home field advantage in all of sports? I can't think of anything else off the top of my head...

Yes, unless you consider soccer a sport. Then it's Mexico's advantage when they play international soccer matches in Mexico City at Aztec Stadium. Elevation + smog from 19 million people = tough **** for your lungs.

And I have to agree with you. I rarely pay attention to soccer, so i never considered Mexico City.

I know that there IS a difference, but I've never been able to clearly tell whenever I've been mountainbiking, skiing, etc. at high altitudes. I did, however, notice a difference once I moved back south and performed physical activities.

The effects of playing at altitude will always be felt more the later the game goes on. Adaptation to altitude takes days, not hours.

I don't care if his pre-existing conditions had a factor in what happen. Did they know before that game in 2007 that he might have to have his spleen and gall badder remove? I don't know but they kept him out of this game because of it so yes its advantage!
