Just came across this story and not sure what to say, but felt the need to post it. Was out to dinner tonight with my two oldest, who want for nothing and are great kids. They are both over 21 (one in college and one out of college and in the real world) and are out having a good time tonight. We've been very fortunate and in reading this was taken aback by the courage and strength of this young man. I know he is not the only homeless student out there, and I know nothing else about the young man or his father besides what is in the article; but at a time when we are all following and rooting for our either our local teams or our alma maters, reading something like this was a reality check. Football is keeping this young man going and despite his and his family's challenges, he remains positive, dedicated and focused at a time when it would be easy to do just the opposite. I have no doubt that he will succeed in life, and I challenge myself and others on what we can be doing to provide some level of assistance, not just to football players in his situation, but to so many who need help and an opportunity.
Just put some things in perspective and wanted to share.
