haha UC passing game had more yards then our entire offense had. I do like that he has been in the SEC so he should know what its supposed to look like and hopefully get us going and maybe Stoops can work on defense and getting this program straightened out.

Listen, How Blue Can you be, if offering tons of money and getting great coaches was that easy we would have done it. I wish we could just blank check Saban, Belicheck, the ghost of Bill Walsh, etc... but you know who else would do that if it was that simple? Everyone. Then we'd still be job opening #300 and get the 300th best guy money can buy and still suck. As much of a scum bag as the guy is, Jurich is showing the model for what we need to do very well right down the road in Louisville. Hell even at Western. You have to try and hire guys who are going to use you for a stepping stone and keep elevating your program to the point that eventually it won't be a stepping stone anymore.

What I find crazy, is that other than Bobby after he has been damaged goods and we could of hired him is that every hire we make is mediocre at best. How in 6 hires(counting the post Claiborne) have we not just gotten lucky with one? I understand a bad hire or 2 but really, no Petrino, Strong, Taggert, Brohm, not once? I mean think of the names we almost hired or were looking at when we made other hires and how terrible our AD's have been at picking these Clowns. Steve Spurrier? Nope Jerry Claiborne, Steve Spurrier again? Nope Bill Curry, Hal Mumme, I liked that is the kind of guy we should be hiring every time. Jim Harbaugh, John Harbaugh, Larry Fedora, Hugh Freeze, Sonny Dykes, etc... How did we always hire the wrong guy?

Hell, some people saying anything positive on this board could be a gamble.
I actually think that UK and this board have fans and posters who are really great for the most part, just believe in different ways to speed up the winning process. If a poster wants changes all the time you are called a negative Nellie's and if you believe in wait to allow the recruiting to catch up to win you are settling for an inferior product. I happen to believe if the staff keeps working and the way the facilities are improving the wins will come and the recruiting will only get better and better.

I personally like this hire better than the last but time will tell.

This is a very reasonable post.

Petrino shows no signs he plans on leaving UofL.
He might be a low-life scumbag but the Cards appear to be happy to have him.
He is giving them winning seasons and decent bowl games.
Meanwhile we sit at home in all our righteousness and watch everyone else practice and play.

My issue is a lot of people who comment that Gran is from Cincy. Yeah, it's not a gridiron Goliath. So?

A lot of stats take into account adjusted rankings based on SOS. I don't think that is quite fair to do to someone who is coming from a piss-poor conference. Talent that is par for the course in that conference doesn't need to be adjusted as much. Yeah, you played cupcakes, but you also had a cupcake roster and still kicked ***.

I think this needs to be taken into account when someone disagrees with the Gran hire. The guy knows his stuff.

If I was looking for a coach I would look to UC quite frankly, they seam to come up with some very good hires year after year when they lose them to Mich. St, and Tenn.

Also, i love how several of the posters making fun of this post were saying similar things when i complained about joker becoming hciw, and subsequently, hc. Its always 2 more years at Uk, then another mediocre hire, then, "its gonna take time" etc etc etc. And again, maybe gran works out. Just doesnt show the commitment i was hoping for.

Perhaps you should give up on UK football and go back to cheering for rapists. Come to think of it, you would probably be better off rooting for Louisville.

We hired the right guy when we hired Stoops. Some people just aren't smart enough to realize it. I would rather UK lose every game for eternity than hire Petrino.

So go root for them. Petrino shows no signs of leaving because no one else wants him. If USC, UGA, etc had called he would be gone already.

Have we ever tried throwing these millions??? Not to my knowledge. When you are behind everyone else, especially as long as UK has been in the sec, catching up requires we do even more than other programs. I think if we are serious about competing, we offer whatever it takes, and frankly, we have enough money to make offers that cannot be refused. Otherwise, it' s crossing our fingers and hoping we get lucky( like what happened with Brooks.)
That might get in the way of Basketball !!

Honest assessment is no it doesn't matter unless of course he turns the offense over to the OC which he hasn't done so far.

We can hope CMS changes his ways soon.

Actually, if it was fact he would be convicted. Personally, im glad we live in a country where one is innocent until proven guilty. How bout you??

You really need to work on your reading comprehension. I never said he was a convicted rapist. He never went to trial. He raped her and then paid her not to testify. That makes him a rapist even if you won't admit it. You bend over backwards defending him just like Card fans do for Pitino, Petrino, etc. Thanks for proving my point that you would be better off rooting for

Mmm, he let Brown do pretty much whatever he wanted. Brown just didn't have the personnel to run anything close to resembling the desired offense.
