I loathe UofL and everything about them, except their baseball coach who appears to be a decent person. But don't kid yourself, their football team will be really good this year, really really good.

Yeah, haven't heard too much bad about him so far, but then that isn't a revenue sport and jurich did hire him so stand by, something new every minute, but most of it covered up.

You have to hand it to UL, they always have dreamed big. Even if it is unrealistic dreams, they have always dreamed big. This goes back to Howard's famous statement of " A collision course with a National Championship, the only variable is time". Maybe that is why starting with Howard they have always had a better football program than UK more often than not.

UK's dream seems to be to just win 6 games a year to achieve that lofty "bowl eligibility". Go to some awful bowl every other year and that will keep the fan base content. That is what really matters to the UK AD and administration. Big dreams in football certainly have never came out of Lexington. They have basketball for that.

This is the difference in football culture between UK and UL that has existed over the last 30 years. If all you aspire to be is adequate, then that is all you will be.
Sounds like just what I have heard from HS himself on several occasions...and it is true

Very good post. I dislike UL with an intense passion, but they have elevated their program over those 30 years while at best we're simply treading water. Until we start beating them, I'll be circumspect in my comments about them.

2Adulterers has found himself in a very difficult position. He basically finds himself in the internet-equivalent of being left hanging trying to give someone a high five on national TV. It is a bit awkward to throw something out there and have your own fans shake their virtual heads in bemusement.

I’m surprised that he would have this take. Since he barely edged out Ryan Lochte on his college entrance exam, he knew that no goal was too great to try and achieve. That said, I could see that after decades of mediocrity in the SEC, one might perceive how contending for a national championship could appear unrealistic and a bit inane. Don’t allow yourself to be jaded by the Stoops era, and demand more from your team.

I don't see where this post makes any sense, about the only thing you managed to do was insult our program, you should realize that it is MUCH harder to succeed when you do things the right way. And you should know, although maybe you don't, that not many teams ranked 25th in the nation have won a NC, and UL doesn't play in the Big Least any more.

Why don't you just go back where you came from, don't you have things to talk about over there, like wondering why you accepted the tournament ban when of course no one at your athletic factory would ever do anything wrong, shouldn't you be petitioning the NCAA to replay the NCAA tournament since you were so wrongfully banned.

Oh, I forgot, that was done voluntarily to try to escape the real punishment deserved, but who knows, with the incompetent NCAA in charge you have a good chance of escaping justice again, just look at your NROTY and how the NCAA screwed up the U investigation so badly they just wanted to disappear for a while.

Anyway there should be lots to talk about on your own board, and who knows what sordid affair will pop up at any time. And isn't there some criminal being kicked out of some school that fans can talk about your fine upstanding coaches reclaiming for society? Maybe you can drop off a lobster tail to Willie in prison, doubt if jurich is living up to his agreement there, out of sight out of mind.

They will be pretty good, but if you think they are going to be national championship good, you are out of your mind! While they have some talent and a decent head coach that knows how to get the best out of his players, if you think they have enough talent to hang with Bama or the elite teams in college football, you're sadly mistaken. People don't understand how much talent these elite schools have in football. A school like Bama has guys on their third string that would have a good shot at major playing time or even a starting job at Kentucky. They will win some games in the ACC. The ACC is not the SEC in terms of talent and coaching staffs. I like UL's starting QB. The kid has talent and is a hand full to contain if he gets out of the pocket. The thing is, this year teams have more tape on the kid to go on and it will make a difference with teams scouting UL and their offense. While UL has some talent and a good QB, just like Kentucky, they don't have the talent to hang with the best. We're talking about a team that should have loss to us last year and we all know how our season turned out. We will be right there in the game vs UL with a chance to win the game. I'm not saying we beat UL. I have no clue what to expect in that game. After the last few years against UL, this should be our year to beat the CARDS and show their fans how delusional their national championship hopes are.

Their offense has potential to be really really good, if their OLine is better than last year. Their defense should be solid.

FSU and Clemson are about 10-1 for the NC. UL is about 60-1. Punchers chance against that of their league's best.

UK is over 1000-1.

Practically speaking there is little difference in 1000-1 and 60-1, neither is going to happen.

my word, no wonder this country has such huge economic trouble

Vegas knows you won't play the 1000-1, but is begging you to play the 60-1. The reason why Vegas wins is because it knows the real reason our country has economic problems.

The point here is not whether UL ever wins a NC, or even plays in that final game. What is relevant, is the fact that there are national media, a few polls and college football fans that at least believe that UL is a potential candidate to be that dark horse. Do I expect this team to beat both Clemson and FSU this year? No I do not, but most would concede that no one on their schedule is likely to be more than a 7 point favorite at kickoff. In the unlikely scenario they were successful against these two (2) top ten teams, they would still have to travel to both Houston and Marshall for trap games and finish against in-state rival UK.

Not an easy task, but no one other than the Tide can see it as likely.

The amount of UL trolls posing as UK fans on this board is insane. The mods really need to get this under control.

2 A-------, it appears from what I can see on this board, you would be the one most everyone would like to see gone. Rather than attacking the messenger, why not try arguing the message?

Well, if he were completely honest he might say keeping all of our transfers out of jail, but that is more on jurich's shoulders, and he has had a lot of practice and does a hell of a job.

What is the latest on the Minardi Hall episode, is there some way jurich can just throw a few million of the taxpayer's and students money at it and make it go away, like Thug U did?

Hart the latest to resign at TU, so now I guess we will never get to hear him explain his remarks about athletes being treated like all the other students at TU when someone brought up the EIGHT THUGS that beat up and kicked TWO people while down with ZERO CHARGES (or lawsuits) filed.

What a bargain that TWO POINT FIVE MILLION was, and only half of it came from the athletic department..

This sums things up pretty well, I'd say.

Puhhlease...the king of Honesty in college football Honest Bob Petrino actually said at
the Little Brother luncheon.."Our goal is to win the National Championship."
Is Howie Scnllenburger still above ground ? Wouldn't you need to beat Clemson and Florida Stateand maybe Houston to have a realistic chance at that statement..[banana][banana][banana]The Johnny Unitas statue is covering his eyes..What next Bob oh I get it Lamar Jackson will win the Heisman Trophy..[roll]...There is some real humor down there..:chairshot:
We are in NO position to make fun of Louisville . Makes us look foolish . Especially since we should have hired both coaches you mentioned .

When you have the talent of their qb, you can go a long way. Hope those denigrating UL don't have to eat crow. No I am not a UL fan. Otherwise , I wouldn't be at UK game this Saturday.
