Depending on what happens and if coach Sughroue coaches again, this could potentially de-rail a very successful season for Hononegah. Lot of kids back, pre-season favorite to win conference and potentially be a high seed in 1-32 in 7A.WREX in Rockford reporting Hononegah head coach Tim Sughroue has been charged by the Winnebago County States Attorney for possession of hydrocodone. Coach Sughroue has been put on leave due to the possession charges.
Will be interesting to see what happens. Did Sughroe actually call plays for the Offense or defense, will a new coach need to take up those duties? Is there a strong assistant in the wings that can seize control and keep everything together and keep the kids buying into their message, how will they handle discipline and keeping kids out of trouble? I think just arguing they have so much talent is a poor argument, lots of teams have D1 talent and win 5 games every year. Anything short of 8 wins would be a pretty big disappointment for that group this year.It will not derail Hononegah. The coach doesn't play the game it's the kids. If they have the talent like we all know they do they will stay strong.
Great post.I see your point Bucs11, but look at Auburn before and after Appino. Look at Boylan after Appino. Look at Belvidere after Pottinger. Yes the talent level fluctuates from year to year but not that much.
