Nobody, indeed. Hood is playing pretty solid, but at a school like Duke he's the 3rd or 4th best player. Analysts are talking about him as a multi-year guy. Wish he would have stuck it out and been a big fish in a small pond, but I can't really blame him. Caldwell-Pope proved you can play for a **** team and still make it. I guess it just takes a special kind of person.
He is a team captain before stepping foot on the court.
He is ranked anywhere from the early 20s to the early 50s on all reputable or semi-reputable draft sites- after having not played for a year.
And Davidson is a 'nobody'? Really? I know you follow college basketball, how the 17 can you come to that conclusion? They arent Kansas, but they also arent Northern Illinois. Now THATS a nobody team. And its been a nobody for years.
Davidson has made the NCAAs 6 times since 2002, made it the last 2 seasons in a row, and has won the conference 9 times since 2001. How are they a nobody?
Hood may be Duke's 4th best player, but that would still make him a fantastic college player. I would argue he is in fact better than 4th, but hey thats all opinion.
Here is what isnt opinion- 16.5ppg, 6rpg, 3apg all while shooting 67% from the floor. These numbers are against a decent team and an incredible team.
I wouldnt be surprised if his scoring drops off, or if his minutes drop some as the rotations become more set. And if he ends up averaging 14, 5, and 2 on a loaded Duke team, I would say thats fandamntastic.
Oh, and that dig on how playing for a **** team and making it big takes a special kind of person is funny as hell. Making it big always takes a special kind of person. Doesnt matter if you are at KU, UGA, or even an apparent nobody like Davidson. Anyone that makes it is a special kind of person. As in they have special talent.
It could easily be said that being an elite player and choosing to play at a perennially ****** program does take a special kind of person. And calling them special isnt a compliment.
