I was glad not to see the "if they had not gotten rid of Stansbury, we would not have had to make this decision."

If he wanted out then, why does he still want out? There has been a complete overhaul. Sid gone, Moultrie gone, Stansbury gone, Bryant gone, Deville gone. What is left for him to dislike? Does he really just hate Starkville that much? Unless he just really wants to stay with Deville and go to JSU, then he is an idiot. Nevermind, if he does want to do that then he is beyond retarded.

Yea it must be tough to play for fans that sit on their hands at a barely half full Hump and are clearly supportive of a coach that's been on cruise control for at least 3 years.

was thinking of transferring 2.5 months ago, then there must have REALLY been some bad stuff going on among the team and/or the coaches. Hood hadn't even gotten hurt or the team hit that losing streak yet.

We weren't called the most dysfunctional program in the country for nothing.

OBVIOUSLY this decision wasn't made in any way shape of form until the past couple of weeks. Otherwise Ray wouldn't have talked in his press conference about building his team next year around Hood. I'm sure Hood thought or talked about the possibility of transferring at some point during the season (who in Stans' program hasn't) but I don't believe there was any real intention to do so until the "retirement" of Stans and the new coach was named. The statement now being made is just primarily to help out Ray where it can publicly appear that he wasn't a factor when we all know he was. Ray had every opportunity to recruit Hood back into the program and apparently couldn't do it. The way I see it Hood would rather sit his rear on the bench for a year for someone else than play immediately for Ray.

I'm calling BS. I think Ray's high demand in work out routines these first couple of weeks..

...that what Ray was saying was part of a final pitch he was giving Hood: "Stay and you'll be my go-to guy."

Unfortunately the situation was already too toxic for Hood which I can understand. I didn't watch or listen to a single game from start to finish this past season because I wasn't impressed with this team at all so why should I blame Hood for wanting to get out of a bad situation that he witnessed personally when I was turned off from a distance?

no more Stans = no left that he trusts to talk to staying.
