I think this would be a great chance to get him in. Have bracewell warm too in case he starts walking everybody. Who knows how he'll react outta bullpen? That could be spot for him

Why not let Evan, cox, gentry, etc pitch the 9th? Graveman is too valuable to stretch him out for no reason. Wait and bring in gentry in a pressure situation instead of situation like this. I don't get it. I do love the result though. Good win

We've had trouble out of our whole bullpen besides Ross and holder. I just felt it would be a good time to get them some work. Would you rather gentry's next outing be with bases loaded or with 5+ run lead. I'd rather him get experience in non pressure situation.

Oh and don't forget that was his third straight cg (very impressive) so I think that qualifies as stretching him. Nevertheless lets sweep with lindgren and Ross tomorrow

Third straight -- in which he's thrown 110, 107, and 99 pitches. That is not overextending a pitcher...

That said, I wasn't against getting one of those pitchers on the hill in the 9th, but I am also fine with letting Graveman finish it. The days of "giving those guys a chance" are basically over. Every game from here on out is important...

I wonder if he turned his ankle in the 9th and missed a start or two would you guys feel the same. He and renfroe are the most valuable players we have and I thought it was unnecessary to pitch 9th. Oh well it worked out.

That is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen put on here.

Thanks. Just thought it was more risk than reward for him coming back out there. The end of last year he injured his groin which is usually due to poor stretching, fitness level, and FATIGUE. He threw 2 cg's last year. This was his 3rd in a row this year

****, we should have just saved him altogether this weekend for a better opponent...

See how stupid this gets in a BIG hurry?

Innings pitched is not a big deal. The big deal is pitch count. His was not bad. But the fact you said he could have sprained his ankle is ridiculous. You can do that at any point.

Fair enough. I'm just a worrier. This team is 4-1 when he starts sec games including lsu's only loss. We're 3-6 without him. We need him and I'd error on the side of caution

Don't forget he's only throwing every 7th day either... not every 5th like the big leagues.
