Hopewell v Heights

Good game for Hopewell, Colonial Heights has a good team. Hopewell defense was and stingy and the offense made big plays.
Yeah I think the offense line will be the key for them. Depending on how far they'll go. The OL has to continue to improve. They've the skilled players and athletes.
This Blue Devil team is fairly sound defensively and the linebackers are super fast to the ball. I hope this gang gets the offense going, because they have been very predictable and anemic up to this point. They have some nice young receivers and it just seems like Hopewell avoids using the mid range pass. It's either go long or a screen. Against Dinwiddie they ran and completed a few 10-12 yard routes. Then it was back to chucking it. If Hopewell wants to beat the likes of Lafayette and Norcom in Region A they have to control the ball. The Blue Devils have several tough district games left and it will help them come playoff time. A lot of upside here just need to start executing.

Oline is really bad... they have to do better with the play calling to help with that maybe more quick game
I agree with you about the offensive line being a deficit, but they to be getting better every game.
Sometimes you have to recognize your strengths and weaknesses. Just because you have a QB who can throw it a mile doesn't mean it's the right fit for your other personnel.
@DMVmonster you are correct. Quick striking is the way to go. Hopewell should utilize swing passes, 10-12 yard routes, and screens more often than throwing the home run ball 10-15 times a game. By doing so the QB will remain upright and it may even open the run game.
Still a lot of games left. Good luck to our brothers from the Central District.
