I don't know how much pull Mitch Barnhart has with the bowl selection process, and I don't know if he's even interested in going to Nashville, but I'm hoping he is, and I'm hoping we get Nebraska or Iowa.

After five years of no postseason, I want to see UK go to a place that 40-50K Kentucky fans can make. Coming off a 7-5 regular season plus beating arch-rival Louisville, I think UK fan interest will be high. The Music City Bowl is an easy one to make for Cats fans. I'd imagine Nashville would LOVE to host the Cats (even though a lot of fans will make it a day trip). Seems like a perfect fit.

Any bowl will be nice, so if UK ends up in Memphis or Birmingham, well, that beats the hell out of no game at all. UK has done both though, and fan turnout just isn't what it is in Nashville.

As for the opponent, I'd love a "name" one like Nebraska. Not only would a win over the Huskers give Kentucky an extra boost heading into 2017, but the Cats matchup well with NU. Also, NU generally travels very well for bowl games, so I'm guessing UK/NU would pack the stadium. UK and Iowa would probably sell it out as well.

Agree Erik. I would love to play Nebraska. Give me a traditional power who has struggled in recent years over a non Power 5 team who has been up and coming in recent years any day of the week. It's amazing how 3 hours yesterday changed everything for this football team. Well deserved.

Good points all but I'd like the Taxslayer(nee Gator Bowl) for weather/recruiting purposes. Might help with the Florida guys UK's recruiting or will recruit.

It's time for the Outback Bowl Trophy to be brought to UK. Tampa has really nice weather, the timing is great and UK would be the game on TV that day. Recruiting in Florida would be the perfect timing. Since UK finished second in the East, a very, very good chance the Outback will be in play. Let's see 80 degrees and sunny in Tampa or 38 degrees and rain and snow in Nashville - hum - I'll take Tampa!

Go Big Blue!

U.K. Would rather avoid Iowa. They are a solid team that would give us problems. Their fans would travel well to Nashville, their qb is from the Nashville area. Iowa has 2 running backs that we would not be able to stop.

On defense, Iowa would bother Stephen Johnson all day. Iowa is not a flashy team, they rely on good leadership be play and field position. I've seen Iowa get more than their share of lucky breaks too.

I'd rather play Nebraska, but an opportunity to beat Iowa would be awesome! No doubt, knocking off the Hawkeyes would be a challenge. A win over them would be significant.

I'd be thrilled with a Florida bowl as well. We wouldn't have as many UK fans in attendance as we would in Nashville, but I'm down for anything that helps recruiting.

Bowl games are all a matter of who really wants to be there. After yesterday, I see a great month of practice and team that will be ready to play. We've played Alabama, let's see how we stack up against the best team they can give us, no matter who it is.
