My buddy from college called me up and we ended up talking for quite awhile. Basically he thinks it will take a loss to Troy to really shake something lose in the coaching staff. I don't agree with him, but what would it take to boot Koenning and get somebody with sack full o steel?

I never hope we lose. Always want to trample the other team.
If we keep losing games because of poor offensive play, like in the Alabama and A&M games last year and OkState this year (we did fine offensively at Auburn for most of the game), then eventually something will be done. If that means firing Koenning, it'll be done regardless of him reportedly being Dan's friend. I think.

Good grief. I am one of the ones that think Hudspeth would be a better coach for us in the long run, but even I would never wish us to lose to anybody. Hell, I would love to be proven wrong and see Mullen beat Troy, upset LSU, beat BG, and go on to win 8 games. Anybody that roots for us to lose can go 17 themselves

I dare your friend to be an undergrad during the 'maroon is the only color that matters' fiasco like I did and see how he feels then.
I remember being in a drunken stupor after a loss at least once as a student and being hopeful that the loss we just endured would create a coaching change. But if you're hoping for a loss against Troy at this point then you just need to go ahead and find another team to support. Transfer to LSU or Bama if football is all you care about. After some of the dark times we've been through in the past, this season ain't so damn bad in the long run. Frustrating as it may be, us long term (yea, I'm under 30) fans have endured much worse.
