Would like to know how much Bland paid the refs in this one?? One of the worst officiated games I have ever watched. Need to send this tape to the vhsl and let them see this one.

Great job of officiating at Graham last night. They dropped a flag on the football and called for both captains of Galax & Graham. Told both the mouthing was done and over or some bodies going to locker room next time. Picked flag up and waved it off. I think it was the umpire. Very we'll handle and that crew done a great job. Had to brag on good officials because they are few and far between. One of them was from Damascus . Keep up good work.
Graham is awful for that but it's because they have a coach who condones it. Just watch them in pregame. Hate to see that crap. Sounds like officials handled that well last night
Hey ill add the GW game to this week of crap refs 8 personal fouls on us and all of them were clean hard hits nothing more. And then the head ref left his mic on and was yelling at the top of his lungs at our kids.
Quit Crying about officials.... especially on a message board.

Put on the stripes yourself and do the job.... there isn't a big pool of candidates willing to stand in the rain and cold get yelled at for $10 an hour.

Have in the past and to no avail. You must have officiated some too. And don't be getting your butt hurt over someone complaining. If you don't like it you don't have to read it.

The statement below was made by Jdphil2. I don't understand how Galax is getting pulled into this. I am pretty sure that Maroons67 is a GW fan but I could be wrong. You show your maturity by calling high school kids a bunch of punks. Galax vs Grayson is a rivalry game and there is always a little trash talking on the field by both teams. Why are you threatening to get the law involved? Let the teams settle it on the field, I seriously doubt anyone cares that you will be on the field.
No Galax has a great coach and a bunch of punks on the team.. That's why they get flagged all the time.. Cannot stand for any one player to be better than them. Like last year and all the mouthing from your dbs. And nothing was called in that's right we were at Galax last year! Also the threats sent to some of Grayson players on Facebook after a 7 on7 on the bus ride home..... We will see how much you guys like it when the law gets involved.... Grayson plays plenty of 1A schools, matter of fact they just got beat by 1A team in Bland. His post said when teams play at Grayson. Didn't say his team played at Grayson, I'm just guessing he is a GW fan because of having Maroons in his name but I could he wrong. Galax is the maroon tide not the Maroons.
This whining on officials is getting old. I didn't make it to a single game this Friday, but I'd be shocked if they were all as "blatant" and "terrible" as are being made out to be. I have not heard an impartial observer make these comments...just homers. Let's talk football, strategy, coaching...but come on...enough official BS every single week.
Most games I go to these days, I definitely see bad officiating. However, I rarely see biased officiating. The first I can tolerate (barely), the second would get me arrested.
me too....if you're good you can usually overcome bad officiating. It's much harder to overcome biased officiating because bias always seems to come at the very end with the game on the line.
I am fortunate enough to have access to hudl.com after watching the film... Cause film can't lie Bland center yes the center was offsides 26 times that I could see. His head was past the ball and arm was almost straight down all night. Also there were 8 chopblocks I saw that weren't called. Center would go low left guard would go high. That's a 15 harder and loss of down I believe. Also on the first two scoring drives they were held to 3rd and longs both times Grayson was penalized for offsides. Also the refs. gave official timeouts so Bland could sub in players. Another penalty on an incomplete pass in the end zone was a push off by the Bland receiver. I watched the film and this is what went on in this game and yes I am going to talk to our AD about sending it to the VHSL for review. Remember film is not biased. It is what it is!

I don't doubt their was bad calls in the game but Grayson's coach said in the paper his team just didn't show up. I wasn't at the game so all I have to go on is what I've read on here and in the news paper. It is 1a and 2a high school football and their will be a lot of questionable and missed calls by the officials, that's just the way it is. You just have to hope your team is good enough to over come the bad calls and yes I know that is not always possible.
Both offsides on us were on the first two Bland scoring drives. Just saying that helped them twice to keep drives alive to score. Also apparently the officials don't know the rules about chop blocks either because our players told them to watch them but didn't help.. Actually one official said that it was OK for them.to do it.
No third and long on the first scoring drive. 2nd and 9 on the 29 when Grayson was penalized. Next play resulted in a ten yard run and first down on the 19. Only third down was third and goal from about the two. Next drive was third and four was the only 3rd down bland had which they got about five. Followed that with overthrowing a wide open receiver at least five yards behind everyone, then about an 11yd run and finally a 39 yd td. No penalties on that drive.
May have been 2nd down looked like a 3 to me. Will.have to look closer. No mention of the off sides or the chop blocks? How about delaying the game so they could sub? I know the one players helmet came off but my film didn't show it being ripped off either. Any how will talk with our AD and sending a copy to the VHSL. Dont mind losing just hate for the officials to help determine the outcome. Good to see the boys having a good year for a change. Still wishing your boys the best on the rest of the season. I will be pulling for them against Graham and especially Galax. And even in the playoffs too.

I agree on the qb part but the fans sitting around me were raging on it. Didn't see any chop blocks. Offsides I can see your argument but don't think you're going to see that called too often in high school. They allowed Grayson's qb a considerable amount of time to get his shoe back on, which I'm okay with, but if we're nitpicking he should've had to come out of the game to fix it. I thought the starting of play clock was off consistently but not an advantage to either team. Good luck to Grayson as well. The more you guys win the better for bland.
