I have really just gotten into following the Kentucky Derby the last 3-4 years along with the Preakness and Belmont. I know alot of you put some money on college games. How would one go about putting some on horses? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

with the Kentucky Derby.

It must be the lure of bourbon, cigars, gambling, and all the good looking tail in hats, because I don't know one goddamn thing about betting on a horse....

the bourbon is rot gut. The gambling is purely shooting in the dark.

But, it is the largest collection of good looking women on the planet. Unbelievable really.

I had a buddy who was an avid horse racing fan and he bet heavily on them. I remember him saying that betting on horses was a long term thing, kind of like the stock market. Although he studied the horses, he mainly concentrated on the jockeys and trainers and their records. There is more difference in the jockeys and trainers and their abilities than there is in the horses in any particular race. I have seen him get a month's pay wiped out in an afternoon. He would then bum money, cigarettes and beer until next pay day. He always paid us back eventually with a little tip.

that you're too good for an "official" $9 julep made with Early Times? Because...that's not really that crazy of a statement. I've seen people there with Woodford Reserve, but there's no telling how much that costs.
And tomorrow I'll be betting on Z Fortune.
For the other question, were you wondering about where to do it? Or what the terms thrown out there mean?

But, that is some horrible stuff. And the price is horrible as well.

I am much more a buyer of the exorbitantly priced fence posts.

Hot Springs alot. I would buy the track sheets, study the paper, listen to Randy Moss, the local handicapper, etc. etc. My wife would look at the board and pick the horse "with the cutest name" She ALWAYS won more $$$ than me. Go figure........
