Did they give a time frame? I'd like to believe there is a 100% that it's bowled in at some point in the future. The question is when.

I have a buddy who's dad was the project manager of the last expansion, told LT while they were there it would save a ton of money if they drove the pylons in the ground and lay the foundation of the end zones seat secured to them, LT said no.

They should include a new visitor's locker room, new concessions and restrooms in the design.</p>

I'm going to have to disagree with that timeline unless MAJOR ticket Ticket sales have picked up for this season,
or that Greg made a commitment to Mullen to expand (possible..not likely)

Seeing as how we have only sold out the stadium ONCE since the expansion,
and are nowhere near close selling out the season ticket allotment, I dont see
doing the endzone as the next high priority task at Davis Wade.
The General Seating is not what is in demand,
The Premium (Club Level and Skyboxes) are what are in demand.

Thus, I have heard many times over, and confirmed by people who know
that the 100 and 200 Levels of the West side will be converted into Premium Seating
when Football gets its turn of Facility Upgrades. (Many are being planned)

No one said anything about a massive expansion. I see it as a replacement of the bleachers that are already there and connecting them to the existing structure. The connections might be the only addition of seats.

I can go ahead and you that almost every home game this year has the potential of a sell out. Jackson State has a great possibility-opening game and its against in "instate foe" we haven't played since I don't know when. Ole Miss will almost certainly be a sell out unless they don't live up to the hype which I hope they don't. Alabama is only 84 miles down Highway 82 and they will bring some fans, good chance there. Florida and LSU probably won't be sell outs but could be close, but if we are halfway descent going into those games, another good chance of a sell out. Georgia Tech probably won't be that big of a crowd unless again, we are descent, and Houston is homecoming which usually never means much in Starkville, but maybe Mullen can market this game like he did for the Spring Game. So I would say we have a chance at having some sell outs and breaking the record crowd that we had in the 2007 season against Alabama. Seeing that stadium without one empty seat and people standing in the ailse and the walk ways up to the upper decks was truely a sight to see for a bulldog fan.

And upset could get us to 6 wins. Have you been to any of the spring practices or the spring game. Tremendous improvement on offense and that's without Elliot, McRae, and Ducre playing. Not to mention that there will be some contributing freshmen this year.

i think attendance stays up due to the fact that we will be very competitve and people see we will have a chance again every week like we did during most of Jackie's tenure

I don't see us having a better chance every week this year than the past 2-3 years. Even then we lost a lot of damn close ballgames. Our defense was good enough to give us a "chance."

many of you are going to be shocked when you see how ****** Crooms was as a coach when this staff has us looking like a legitimate SEC football team instead of a Conference USA whipping boy

Man , that video board is huge. I wish they could add a couple of more floors to the fieldhouse to even the thing out. It looks really out of place the way it is now and , oh yea, the videoboard will be included in the 2010 EA Sports NCAA game.

but any new coach gets 3 years to turn a program around. I just know how big of an idiot Crooms was, and if he can win 3-4 games, then this staff can surpass that. Mullen has it tough his first year with a ***** of a schedule, but he already has us headed in the right direction. We will be fine.

We have the best staff of coaches in the 3 major sports that we have had in my lifetime right now. As long as Stansbury keeps playing the soft schedules, he wont hold the other two guys back

You think it might behoove us to play a tough schedule? I would say "yes", but only if we could have a summer overseas trip to prepare the team.

My guess is it will be much like the expansion that happened at USM only on a little bigger scale. I'm sure we'd add about 6 or 7 thousand seats (but we're taking away about 2500 with the student bleachers) and then add a few skyboxes.

I also think the improved O will keep more butts in seats compared to recent past because many fans will have some realistic hope that we can score points and stay in games. I have no reason to believe the defense will not be as good as Ds in recent years. So, all in all, I think attendance will be pretty good most of next year regardless of the W/Ls.

Add in the fact that game day experience is going to dramatically improve (Mullen has said they are going to "crank it up" - literally - he recently told fans to be prepared for a loud game day experience from the MooTube) - and I think fans are going to be more excited and come away more often with a simple sense of: "I'm glad I went to the game today." And that will keep 'em coming back at least for a year or two.

But you're right: the bottom line is win baby, just win.

You may be right, but that's a stretch at this point. Don't take this as a swipe at your current coaches, because I think they are all solid and show potential.

However, Jackie Sherill, Richard Williams, and Ron Polk are three of the most successfull coaches in your sports history. They all coached during the same era and your lifetime.

dad was the project manager

Although it may have saved money in the long run (doubtful) it would have meant spending money then on something that had no return for what 20 years? No LT fan but that just wouldn't have made a lot of sense, at least for my money. Also, designs and specs change over the years so there is no telling if the pilings (not pylons) and foundations would have even served the needs of whatever design eventually goes in the north endzone. And finally, project managers look for added change orders to up the profit, that's part of their job, but a client has x amount of money for a project and there are always give/takes. I'd go with LT on this one if it really happened this way.

The reason people quit going to games that Croom coached, the reason I didn't go, was because the offense was sooo bad. I don't care how good your defense is, if you score 0 points you lose. Watching your offense go 3 and out every time is very boring. I think Mullen will have a lot better offense which leads to better entertainment. I also think our D should be good enough to keep us in games.

like it was during the spring game, we did a pretty good job of moving the ball. The INTs were not thrown by our 1st two QBs, our WRs looked good and our RBs looked pretty good. When you factor in we were missing 4 of our top offensive weapons (McRae, Elliot, Ducre, and Stallworth) not to mention some incoming freshmen, we looked solid to me. Way better than Crxxms offenses. I mean we really only need about another 50yds per game to be a pretty descent offense. In Jackie's years our offenses were all rated in the 70-80s. I have no doubt Mullen will get us higher than that in a couple of years. But if our offense is anywhere between 60-80 in the country this year, we should have a descent football team, our schedule just may end up killing us. All I gotta say is this: In Crxxms last Spring Game, his 5th year coaching here, he could only put up 6 TOTAL POINTS and it had to go to OT. Mullens FIRST Spring Game, he puts up 45 total points. Pretty obvious we are heading in the right direction offensively. He did it all with Crxxms guys too, once he gets two or three of his classes in here, we should be putting up around 30ppg. Not 13 or 14ppg.

Since we all agree that Croom was basically a pile of cow **** wearing MS State gear and a crooked hat, there is no way that we don't have a "better chance" every single weekend under Mullen. I think you're forgetting that we have a new coach now and that Croom is gone. Apparently Mullen actually knows what college football is and how a college football team is supposed to conduct themselves.

Odds are he will. Croom had the second worst win % among the 10 MSU coaches since 1951 and third worst among the 15 MSU coaches since 1933.

saving money like buying something you don't need with a coupon saves money. It is true that it would save money over the total cost of doing both, but since we only had the money to complete the expansion the end-zone work would have made us run over budget. We didn't have the money to do that at the time.
