If Auburn fires Tubby, would State be interested? I know much of the MSU fan base still hates his guts, but face it, the man wins and can coach. He knows how to recruit players around the region. The NCAA has never had an investigation, to my knowledge, on him. Not saying I'm strongly for hiring him, I'm just saying we could do much, much worse(i.e. right now with the Walrus).

card to play and a hefty buy-out. He might be on the hot-seat next year though. The most likely to get fired from the SEC is Fulmer with a huge game coming up against UGA; they get blown out and the rumors will really start. John Gruden? Yeah, right. </p>

and I would send Auburn a nice thank-you note. That would be to good to be true.

Other thing to remember about Tuberville- Ole Miss hates him to. He might like to really stick it to them.

I would much rather have him. He can't win the big game, but I would be satisfied with Clemson's recent sucess for a while.

Theres no way they would fire Tuberville. But if he got fired and fatty phil is gone I could see Tennessee grabbing tubby.

and at one of the traditional football powers of that conference. I can assure you he wouldn't have anywhere near that kind of success in the SEC, especially at one of the non-football powers of the SEC.

Remember this about Bowden. As bad as Auburn's offense sucks, his Clemson team didn't come close to stopping it in the Peach Bowl last year.

that they have been the favorite in their last 11 losses? If that is true, that is unreal.

Bowden saw this coming and tried to start deflecting the criticism before the season even started. I wish I could find them, but there were some quotes from him before the year to the effect of "Im just not sure if the guys have bought in..."

It is sad when one SEC coach has a much better record than our coach at this point in the season and we are considered less likely to fire our coach then they are to fire theirs. We are MSTATE.

Auburn fires Tuberville. The man has beaten Alabama 6 straight times, finished a season undefeated and won the SEC West either three or four times. Just last year they won the Peach Bowl and finished the season ranked in the top 20 and two years ago they finished 11-2, won the Cotton Bowl and finished I think 6th in the country. Auburn firing Tuberville would be like Ole Miss firing Cutcliffe times 1,000.

this was his first year, and the cupboard was pretty bare when he took over. He was also late on the recruiting process due to his commitment to the Texans last year. If he doesn't show improvement over the next 2 years, A&M will get rid of him.

I would be satisfied with Auburn's recent success too. In eight years: 3 Division Titles, 1 Conference Title, a 13-0 Season, a Sugar Bowl, 70% winning percentage in the toughest conference in the land. Under no circumstances am I saying he would accomplish that at Mississippi State, but I'll bet he could do it before Bowden could.

We would win big games from time to time, win games we are supposed to win, and not lose to the likes of Houston, Louisiana Tech, UAB, Tulane, and Maine on a regular basis.

Mississippi State landing Tommy Tuberville would be like the skinny guy with bad acne scoring a date with the Homecoming Queen.

He's a proven head coach and Ole Miss fans hate him. What else could you ask for in a coach?

With that being said, I would take Bowden in a heart beat too.
