There's a good game coming up this week. Hough from Cornelius, NC, out of the Charlotte area is meeting Highland Springs.

Hough has started 2-0 with wins over Rock Hill, SC South Pointe, 14-10 and Independence out of Charlotte, North Carolina, 35-0. In week 1, Independence had defeated Gaffney, SC High School 27-21. Hough is in the newly realigned Class 8A in North Carolina.

Highland Springs enters this game 1-0 after an impressive showing in their season opener over Hopewell 68-12.

What are your thoughts on this one? For what it's worth this early in the season Massey has Hough over Highland Springs 38-12

Thus far, our top teams in Virginia haven't fared too well outside the Commonwealth. Eric Byrd is a D1 running back, and he returned with a 49-yard TD run in his first game back. I hope it is closer than what Massey Computer predicts.

Hough won in a close game 17 to 14 but it seemed like the Hough defense dominated with HS only scoring on a defensive pick 6 and on another very short field given to them on a Hough offensive blunder.

That was a very accurate observation. I felt the same way. Hough's defense has been doing that so far this season.
