Well, then he needed to go to a smaller school like his UMASS days. Or hang it up.

It's irresponsible to be ok with that a go coach at a major D1 school with any kind of basketball his

Cal is twilight era Bob Knight and Denny Crum. He should have retired 10 years ago. He’ll never sniff a title again.

He’ll have good teams, but he’ll never be a real threat nationally again. And honestly i think he’s okay with that.
Absolutely. Remember after UK won the title in 2012 and they interviewed Cal after the game and he said he was happy to get a championship so he can get back to coaching kids. It was weird as if he didnt care and it wasn't his main goal. Cal and his players said as much several times.

Cal lol. The guy is so washed compared to what he was. Hell win some there based on talent but anytime he goes up against a real quality opponent that’s well coached he’s gone. It’s why he couldn’t stay here, we’ve got a standards problem right now in part because he lowered them. Glad he’s at Arkansas and not here.
Cal usually gets out coached, but there was a time the talent level on his team compensated for that.

I can give Cal some grace on that. I can honor his teaching heart- but dog gone it- you don't go to major basketball schools then. Go to Oregon St. Go to Cal (the school). Go to FIU or something.

Let's be fair- they started out like garbage last year. And got lucky to face a very weak KU and run into Pitino (who Cal just kicks his *** every time they meet).

That St Johns team was good tho. I think regarldess it was a sucessful season for them especially from the 10 seed position.
Not to say I think Cal is going to be taking them to final fours or winning titles anytime soon.....or ever.

But that's still not bad for someone supposedly washed up.

Why couldnt he do that here the last few years? Bottom line was Cal's ego became to much to control. He pushed away Mitch, Donors and Nike thinking he could do it all himself. Cal was the sole reason for his struggles. Appreciate the first several years but it was time for him to move on. It just was.

This. The money had dried up. The La Familia Collective had raised a pathetic amount of funds after the Oakland lost.

ANY coach that loses to a mid major with not one but TWO T10 draft picks has earned the criticism. And I'll be honest, I'm struggling to find if it's ever happened in NCAA history. I know Duke dropped some opening rounders but I don't think they had two T10 picks.....

Low T Cal struck again today.

On a side note, Acuff is the real deal. He's the best Fr. Cal has had since Monk and Fox.

Cal is absolutely washed. He’s a shell of his former self. Could he get a little lucky and a road open up? Could he get to a final four? It could happen, but it’s unlikely.

Cal used to be likely to at least get to final fours with his teams. He’s no threat to ever win the conference again, he’s really not a serious threat to win a title. Too much going against him. His system is wildly outdated and he loses to nearly every top ranked teams he plays.

for a guy who had what Calipari had you’re way off the the mark. That’s washed. Sorry buddy. Wrong again.
