Cal lol. The guy is so washed compared to what he was. Hell win some there based on talent but anytime he goes up against a real quality opponent that’s well coached he’s gone. It’s why he couldn’t stay here, we’ve got a standards problem right now in part because he lowered them. Glad he’s at Arkansas and not here.
Arky''s not that good. They're clinging to T25 in Kenpom. For all our struggling we're still better metrically than they are.
Cal's old problem remains- he can't teach defense anymore.
Michigan would like a word. They smoked the Number 2 team in the country like they don't even exist.
His disdain for the 3 hurts him as much defensively as offensively. His teams don’t really guard it. If teams aren’t making open 3’s his teams D is still pretty good.
Gonna disagree there....and so do the numbers from his last few seasons. Cal SUCKS at defense lately. Which is sad to see because in his early days that man could beat you down with defense.
But don’t you think a little of that is how big a factor the 3 point shot is in today’s game? The Seth Curry effect at the college level? I don’t think Cal defensively has ever adapted to it.
Arkansas is a teams of runs. Strong guard play. Very good team.
Typical Cal team. Look good sometimes and then **** the bed looking like an NIT team. Defense is never good.
Michigan is very good. Just for me, I'm not trusting Elliot in the tournament. Houston has everything I think you need to go far

Soon as a Cal team gets bodied up they start taking bad shots. If they would run their stuff they would get back into this game. Always frustrated me so much about his teams.
Houston is Solid: The Thomas kid for Arkansas apparently didn’t get off the bus.
He has basically the same stat line as DJ with half the minutes. Knox has also been a total bust.
Cal is twilight era Bob Knight and Denny Crum. He should have retired 10 years ago. He’ll never sniff a title again.

Cal has done something I’ve never seen him do. He got to watch a kid name “Sharp” play. He’s on the other team but “Hey, it counts!”
Tough matchup for Arkansas. Mature physicality will always give Cal teams an issue especially early in the year.
If he gets extremely lucky he might have another FF left in him. Cal needs the really high level 5 stars and multiple ones to win at a high level. He use to get them at UK before he pissed nike off and now they let duke have first pick.
Yeah where has Knox been? It’s been Acuff, Ewing, Brazile all game. Nobody else did much it seems like.
He’s not as bad as they got. He’ll just last year they could have made a final 4 the way they were playing. Lost a tough game. I don’t think he will ever be the favorite again but he recruits so well he can make a run still. Those other guys couldn’t recruit in the new eras.
Zaga is up there too. It's those five and tbh a big gap between them and everyone else.
Well, then he needed to go to a smaller school like his UMASS days. Or hang it up.
It's irresponsible to be ok with that a go coach at a major D1 school with any kind of basketball history.
