lsu? pitt could very well win the acc this year. They have the top scoring offense in the country. They have Kenny Pickett (BRB). Why isn’t nardoozie a hot commodity? Why aren’t the experts floating his name for every good college coaching job?

seriously though. i have wondered this as well. he does more with less compared with franklin. actually knows the playbook. what is it seriously about him that makes him not a candidate for silly season name dropping? is it his demeanor? pound for pound i'd take him for a coach over franklin any day. and he is an equally good recruiter, given what he is tasked with selling.

Pitt wins the ACC. Will this be like the 3 way big least championship where Pitt goes on to be embarrassed in a bowl game?

In other news, Mel Tucker used the LSU to get "Ryan Day money". Can you imagine a coach using another job opening to get what he wants? Outrageous! 😏

I’m sure it’s all just a misunderstanding.

Nardouche does more with less? I can’t say I agree with that take.

His win totals, including bowls, coming into this season were 8, 8, 5, 7, 8, 6, all while playing in a terrible conference and division. His 247 recruiting classes during that time were ranked 46, 30, 37, 48, 55, 45, and 29. Hardly an equally good recruiter. He’s an average coach at best.

But he’s better than Franklin because f*ck us. That’s how it works.

I think he replaces Franklin when Franklin bolts to USC/LSU. Why not, he knows the in-State recruiting territory

I guess we should just be thankful then his personality is such a turn off he can't land any of them.:ROFLMAO:
I get it, I really do, but at least he tries. Franklin seems only interested if they are high 4 or 5 star players. Poz and Lee were 3 stars and I don't believe Franklin would have given them a sniff. Well, maybe he would have offered them as a walk-on.

Therapists are doing wonderful things for delusional people these days. I suggest that you seek immediate help. And I’m not a Franklin acolyte.

The Dooz just might land a step-up job after this season. The job I think about is Michigan State assuming Mel Tucker takes one of these big openings after his success this year. I think The Dooz is more of a "fit" candidate and the familiarity at Michigan State is a plus.

i disagree with the recruiting take. don't get me wrong, i'm not a fan by any stretch. but he's trying to sell kids on pitt. uhh, it's a commuter school with no stadium of its own. i'd argue those recruiting rankings indicate he is as good or better a recruiter than franklin.

why do you think so? seriously- am curious why you think that? we do better than pitt, franklin does better than nardooze, but we / he should be doing so much more better. i'm curious why you think that's wrong to think that.

Ah yes, I’m certain that we can all visualize the DUZZ with his intellectual, cosmopolitan demeanor hob nobbing with USC’s Hollywood donor base at the caviar station at the next fund raising banquet.
that's the exact answer to the overall question i think. phrased differently, our ceo-type non-coaching coach is more of what the times call for, particularly on the left coast. i think this is exactly right. if we could take the best of cjf and nardooze and fuse them into one, we'd have an all-time great ('course, the leftover half would be abominable).

Sorry, but your conclusion that he is an equal or better recruiter than Franklin is not sound. By your logic, Narduzzi is one of the most elite recruiters in the country, because he is able to sign a class of primarily 2 and 3 star prospects...despite being at Pitt. What?

Perhaps a better comparison would be Pitt versus the recruiting of other mid-tier programs like Boston College. Congrats to your team for having a good year.

I think that Pat Narduzzi does a good job considering the hand he was dealt at Pitt. He has some signature wins, most notable beating a Clemson team in 2016 that went on to win the National Championship. Did a little luck play a part in that victory, yeah sure, but he still won. Would he be a good fit at USC? No way! I lived in Southern California for 5 years in the late 80’s, early 90’s and Mr. Narduzzi would not be a good fit. He would be rubbing elbows with donors who are extremely wealthy, very well educated and snobby. JMHO

🤔 Seems to also know a lot about Pitt. Interesting. Lucky play in the win against Clemson in 2016? I don't know what that means.

However, I do remember an uncharacteristic dropped TD by Hamilton that allowed an upset of PSU in 2016. Interestingly, he didn't mention that signature win. I recall there were commemorative keychains or a parade or something.

Sure he knows the territory but he doesn’t get the good players. He is a humorless arrogant pric#. He is a horrible recruiter.
