That is the ugliest Raider logo of all time! lol, where did you get that from?
Have you seen how many people have picked them to win the state title in the bracket challenge?? I don't think anyone is overlooking them, personally.
Who is underistimating Appomattox ? There record speaks for itself. They are one of the favorites and should be. I think people are getting nervous and just want other people who have their own teams to pull for to say something they dont believe to make them feel better about their own. Then get upset because somebody else has a different opinion.
I personally believe there is at least five teams that truely has a great shot at winning it all. I for sure dont take Appomattox, Glenvar, Giles and Union for granted. Then you have Buckingham, Clarke, James River and Graham that I think could make some serious noise. I think this is great that there is no one Clear cut favorite in 2A. This would be how I would rank them right now and some want like it but here is my thoughts as of right now.
1- Appomattox
2- Glenvar
3- Union
4- Richlands
5- Giles
6- Buckingham
7- Clarke
8- Graham
9- James River
10- Central Wise

Lee has tons of talent and are just now hitting their stride under new coach Scott Girolmo. They can score from anywhere on the field and should be a threat this year. Tremendous improvement from the first game of the season against my Gladiators. Would not be surprised to see them in Salem if they can play in the moment and believe in themselves. Previous Lee teams were prone to untimely penalties but the new coach has all but eliminated that atmosphere. I have connections to some of these kids through my baseball coaching days in Staunton. They have a long line of talent coming, so the future is bright for them. Good luck
Its going to be a tough road on the West. I feel there are many that underestimate Appo. Example: look where we are rated on the Top 10. VA preps always shafts Appo yearly because we not from the west side of Roanoke (scarcasm intended). Just being real about it. Raiders are hungry to prove all the naysayers wrong.

I heard them saying comments loudly after game and then they would look at ya, "Im not impressed," "They will get knocked out playoffs in 2nd round," "they overrated." Even some folk from Gretna on this board started hating after we beat them. We jerked out starters midway through 3rd qtr. SMH.
I have the name "Advocate Of Many 434" for a reason. I give credit where its due. I so despise Buckingham due to them being a rivalry game (BattleOfTheAxe), but i respect them at same time. Ragland and them Gough boys are OFFICIAL! Im looking foward to the buckingham/richlands game if both win 1st round. Buckingham is a great team.

Thats more like it, thats our mascot minus the A on hat, we had to change it because Arizona I was threatening us with law suits
I understand your thoughts and they are legit. I just want you to know Richlands doesnt underestimate you guys or anybody else. Its one and done now so we will all know very soon who are the best teams. Good luck to you guys and I truely hope we meet in about three weeks but a lot of football between now and then
I just read on the 3A board some trash talk about Richlands and Appo. They said Rustburg must not be that good being they lost to Appo? SMH, but they really going in on Richlands. Lol. I def respect ur qb, but i feel that is the reason ya RB gets off. Yall run a good offense to keep D off balance.
At this point, I'm used to it. We played "up" in AA Div. 3 for a decade when we could have dropped to A Div. 2. We regularly went up against schools twice our size, and we repeatedly came out on top. In every state semifinal or state final that we played in except one, we either won or lost very close games. The one exception is Brookville when Logan Thomas was a senior. We never got respect when we went to 3 straight state titles and 4 in 6 years. At this point, I'm done with those goons.
I'll 2nd Kevtodd5. As a Richlands fan and us being in the playoffs for so many years and actually making several deep runs, we have learned over the years to respect all the teams in the playoffs and never over look anybody ! That's one thing Coach Mance will not let his team do is over look anybody or take a game for granted.
We may have a bad game or be flat, but not because we didn't respect our opponents.
I have the same 6 teams as my favorites to win as Kevtodd5, but in a little different order, and I think any of the 6 could get hot and win the state !
