People that are too emotionally vulnerable to cope with views that challenge their own...they are more prone to taking offense and less resilient than others.
In the town where I live someone proposed that the Town Council declare Friday (Inauguration Day) a day of mourning. Seriously. The Town Council wouldn't go that far but from what I read they are going to declare it a Day of Kindness and Respect. I wish they had declared it a Day of Local Governments to Focus on Local Issues Instead of National Ones.
I'm no fan of Trump but the extreme negativity he's getting is so strong that it wouldn't surprise me if it created a backlash and ended up working to his advantage. All he has to be is not terrible and he'll have exceeded expectations.

You make a great point. The bar is being set so low, it is hard not to clear it. The media is playing right into his hands as well. Trump is not well liked, but the media is hated. And now it is Trump vs. the media and Trump will look great by comparison. He is inoculating himself against future charges they may bring. Brilliant on his part, stupid on the media's part.
I don't like Trump the person or his demeanor as President. He is a narcissist, thin skinned, petulant and use to getting his own way. He is non-Presidential. I wish he would stick to real issues on his tweets. I do like many of his policies, however. But he has got to deliver and he has to start on Day 1 or what little appeal he has will dissipate.

I don't know, how did the right do in 2008 and 2012? They protested loudly both times, too. As for me, it's just another day for another politician. Congress is more important than the president, as it is supposed to be and as we have seen.

Today is a great day. We are peacefully transitioning power from two idealistically opposed entities. Peacefully. Ver few places in the world can do that.
